In Super Mario RPG there is a little mole that will sell you a shiny rock for a extremely large amount of money. Ends up being the stone required to open up the door to Culex... the hardest battle in the game. And it's not even a required battle, you can beat the entire game and not even know where Culex is. Damn that game owned...

CULEX WAS SOOO EASY! Get to level 30 put on the Jinx Belt, Lazy Shell Armor, and the Lazy Shell and you'll own him.
