I'm really annoyed at the games industry right now. I recently got a new computer, so I don't have a lot of my games installed. Suddenly today, I felt in the mood for some BF1942, so I went to grab the disks and install the game again. Now I need the stupid CD key, which I (of course) don't have, because I have lost the case. (Even though I tried to not lose it.) So now I have to go through many unnessecary steps to satisfy my whim! Grr...

So, uh... yeah.

Happens to me all the time. Except more often than for games, it's for Microsoft Word. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Yea, I went to install half-life a few weeks ago and I couldn't find the box anywhere... It would be nice if they printed the keys on the discs.

But wouldn't that somewhat defeat the purpose of it?

What if you simply WROTE the key on the disc AFTER you buy it? So yea, you'd be writing on your CDs, on the flip side though, you ALWAYS have the CD Key with you.

A. I backup all my CDs onto my HD in ISO form. All of em.

B. I have a text document with all my CDKeys on my HD encrypted with a special encryption I made up myself. It's on all the hard drives, on all partitions, on my MP3 player, my laptop, my Knoppix CD, and a few other things.

C. I keep all cd cases on a cd holder. None of the CDs are in the cases, thus they are never moved.

For all games I get that require CD keys, I always write them on the actual play CD. Then I take the original case, put 'em back in the box, then put the CD('s) into these slim CD cases. Why? Saves room on my desk. Never a problem down the road.

I assumed that he legally owned the games in question. Who am I to judge?

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.
