Sean Bean has been in a bunch of decent movies, including Equilibrium, Ronin, Patriot Games, and I'm sure a few more. His characters have a nasty habit of not surviving till the end of the movie, strange that.

I think his best role was Patriot Games. And I've noticed that his characters never live... except for the made-for-tv-book-adaptation of the Sharpe's Rifles series.

It's like every time I see him I recognize him, but for some reason haven't been linking him correctly to all the other parts he played X_x

I don't understand Sean Bean's role in Ronin. After he left the team in the beginning of the movie, I kept expecting him to come back as a bad guy, but his character just disappeared. Why was he even in the movie at all?

He was supposed to be some hot shot ex-SAS guy, but Deniro's character called him on the fact that he was a fraud, so he left

Yeah he was a Cleric. He was Christian Bale's partner at the start of the movie, the guy who kept the book.

Yes, I understand what happened in the movie, I just don't get why it happened. His character was not essential to the story at all, and could easily have been cut from the film without losing anything.
