Well, I've been browsing Massassi all evening, and frankly, I was kinda bored. So, I started joking with a friend, and my mind started to wander (I get a little morbid, please don't be alarmed):

[My friend]: I guess I just see death as such a painful, sad thing...
[Yen]: what would it be like?
[Yen]: to actually separate from your body
[My friend]: yeah I've never really thought about it that way
[Yen]: Death is like peeling skin, like clipping nails, like cutting hair
[My friend]: good metaphor
[Yen]: thank you
[My friend]: welcome
[Yen]: there's just more skin/nail/hair
[My friend]: yeah
[Yen]: maybe like getting out of a small sleeping bag that won't unzip
[My friend]: haha
[My friend]: could be
[Yen]: will we take a deep breath and wonder how we could stand it?</font>

Well that only works if you believe in a conscious afterlife. Otherwise it would probably feel exactly like falling asleep - except you never wake up.

I remeber talking to one of my friends online a few years back and saying that it felt like my mind worked like a type of cartridge system, and I could only concentrate on a limited amount of sublect areas becuase all of the ports were "busy" with other areas of thought.

His only response after I explained that for about 15 minutes was "Jim, man, that just weird."

This was coming from the one person whose weird weird traits are the sources of all of my most interesting/disturbing stories.
