...Do stores actually ever run out of major releases like this?

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've never had to think to myself 'damn, should've pre-ordered'. In fact a lot of pre-orderes around this joint seem to spend a day or two waiting by their mailboxes, while the rest of us who simply went down to the shops are already enjoying it.

Quite a few stores ran out of the Indy DVDs when they were first released, but they had more in stock within a few days.

I'm thinking I might wait until the 6 dvd set comes out, but I've not decided yet.

I was mad when the stores ran out of the VHS version of the widescreen...

I know that whenever I've preordered anything from one specific site it's always arrived a day before the release date. Why? Because they guarantee that it will arrive for the release date, and more often than not the postal service is quite fast.
