Rumors building fast of a new Jedi Knight type game...

...which features the player (you, of course), who will assume the role of Darth Vader himself! The Force.net also has this unraveling mystery of LucasArts' next, or current project.

According to The Force.net, this game was supposed to be somewhat based on Episode 3, but then changed it to an Expanded Universe scenario...

Interesting...

If it's true, I'm betting right now that it'll suck. Not suck as in be the worst game ever. Suck as in it'll be something people will buy, play once, talk about, mod (maybe) for a bit, and then it will die. Anywhere from six months to one year for a vibrant lifespan.

Sorry to be so pesimistic, but I'm honestly sick of seeing Jedi games now, I'd rather see more SW games focused on the OTHER aspects of the trilogy. Republic Commando is a good example of what I'd like to see more of. IF it succeeds. That, and I'm loosing all faith in LEC ever putting out a game I'll actually enjoy as much as good 'ole Dark Forces II ever again.

Yeah. Some variaty is very good (Armed and Dangerous), but I do like these Jedi games though. I hope its for PC... everything's better on PC.

It'll follow the lucasarts rules of games. It will either be

A) Extremely good. Will meet and excede all expectations of every gamer. Great gameplay, story, graphics, and sound. Examples: Knights of the Old Republic, Dark Forces II

B) Mediocre. Extremely overhyped, everyone thinks it will be great, and it sells well, but it just isnt that good. Some good things, usually 2 out of 4 aspects are good, Story, gameplay, graphics or sound. Examples: Bounty Hunter, Star Wars Galaxies

Storywise: Hopefully we will get a good plot. We won't.

Editorwise: Okay, if I get my 3do's, cogs and other fellows back, yayayayyayayayayaay. Otherwise, maybe nice, but still not nice.

I am indifferent to much gaming news simply because 56k hasn't cut it for ages (a couple years, in comp time). I'll get excited when DSL becomes available. *goes off to cry*

Hmmm... I while back there were rumors that there would be a television show about Darth Vader that took place between Episodes III and IV. I guess they must've scrapped that idea and gone with this one instead.

Heres some good news, there are currently 3 star wars games in production right now, so that distributes the members of LEC over many games... Maybe... just maybe with less members of LEC working on games and more indy companies working on them it could turn out to be good

you missed the category that includes "Super Bombad Racing" "Gungan Defender" and I think there was one other mind-numbingly bad Star Wars game made post EP-1.... forget what it was...

But yeah, I'll go with poster #2, if it actually exists, it'll suck.

I definitely agree with whoever said we need a new X-Wing or TIE Fighter game. I hope I will live to see the day when I can assault the Death Star online with other X-Wing pilots.
