My internet connection has been permanetly downgraded!

Well, I had been running 1.5/128 on Verizon DSL for about a year. When my friend moved back into town he got Verizon and was pulling 1.5/384. I then called Verizon to get upgraded, they said they would do it, but I was downgraded to 768/128. Grr!

What's their explanation?

I'm 18k from the CO, and that it's not possible to get 1.5 download at that distance. Well, how was I getting it for a year? They said my distance increased. So, what happens when it increases to where I can no longer get DSL?!

Looks like I'm stuck. I really wanted the 1.5/384 to improve multiplayer gaming.

Still better than dial up at least :)

latency and bandwidth are not necessarily related.

Bad Times :(

At least you're not on dial-up
Pissed Off?

That shouldn't really make a noticeable difference for gaming. Your connection speed (latency) is probably the same. That's still plenty of bandwidth for any game I can think of.

Maybe an exception would be BF:V/1942 on a big server.

Could be worse. Of course, because Blueyonder love people, they gave us 50% extra to 768/whoknows.
You'll see it's all a show, keep 'em laughing as you go. Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

Well the gaming I'm speaking of is pretty much just Halo 2, don't do a lot of online gaming.

We'll see. Still, the 1.5 was nicer :(

I think my upload speed is 128 while my download is 384 so it seems like you guys better off than me. However, I get pings as low as 12 on average so I don't think my speed is slow at all for gaming.

Hate to bring this back up but is there any program that can monitor how much data my router is receiving and sending? I'm dying to know how much data Xbox Live is pushing...
