as long as you haven't used the space on the disk which the files/folder occupied you should be able to get most of it back...

just search the web for a data recovery programme, might have to do it a few files at a time but better than downloading it all again..

nope, it scans your hard drive for files that have been *deleted*....

you never actually delete anything you just tell the hard drive its now empty space....as long as you haven't over written where the data once was it is still there...

try this programme, worked for me on a friends pc...

how many files do you have to recover?

you might just have to use google and find something *cough* that will make the programme do more than one file at a time.....

isnt there a "manual" wayto do this.... all the easy to use, good program are so limited they wont restore more than a few files or they have to be like under 50kb...

haven't come across a manual way in windows and I did look quite hard, its meant to be the recycle bins job, but as you say sometimes it can skip that.....

afraid to say that the only way you are lightly to get the data back is by using one of these programmes, thats if it is even there? have you done a scan and found anything??

yes i've tried about 7 progs now and none of them will allow me to recover since they are "demos" and it's basically wothless unless you recover a text file

You should be able to system restore, if you have a backup from before you "dropped the soap".

-I'm gonna steal that phrase. It's funny. Ha. Hah hah.

there ARE ways to get around that, but I doubt people would appreciate me bringing them up here. :)

can't you get things back from DOS? i know it takes a bit of know-how to figure it out, but i think that would do it

System restore wouldn't do it. S.R. doesn't do files, it mainly does registry settings, drivers, etc. Things like that. But it won't bring back files.

I don't know if it's possible to do through windows itself, I think you might have to find a program to do it.

Might be some free Linux programs, you could download Knoppix (ON A DIFFERENT COMPUTER, so that 700 mb won't overwrite any of your data), and then try running a free linux program through knoppix.

Best I can do. :/

I really don't think this guy has even checked his recycling bin. He seems to think you have to drag and drop to it for them to be in there, so he just ignored it.

Else I just can't understand his lack of good grammer, and I'm reading/seeing things.
