That's fine, it's just something windows does to keep your files from being fragmented all over the hard drive.

damn, that looks bad. how fragged were you?

Check out diskkeeper. its supposed to keep your drive from becoming fragged in the first place.

Yeah. I did ditch Windows. I still have a bunch of files on there that I want/need. I have to either get the 2.6 kernel or get my 2.4.x kernel to read the NTFS partition so I can access them.

Or just compile NTFS support into the kernel you've got. Mount it read only though.

Can you go back to FAT32?

I think I'm just going to get the kernel I have to read the NTFS partition. When I get time to do it.
