ATI tradeup program

anyone plainng on doing this?

As far as i've read the following occurs

You order a new ATi card (whatever you wish)

They charge you the full price for the ATI card you ordered plus a security deposit.

You can try out your new ATi card they sent you and see if its worth upgrading too.

Once you decide to, you mail your old card back to ATI, and they refund the security deposit + the value they have for your old ATI card.

So in my case i Have the 9800 pro 128mb
it's valued at $199.99 on ATi site

(edit) misread the tradein price

if i decide to buy the x800 128mb ($399)

And return my card, i end up paying $200 to upgrade.

:o

is that correct or did i misread this program rules?

ok i did misread that,

they charge you full price for example

they have the 9800 pro 256mb for $249.99 with a $50.00 tradeup credit

so you are charged $299.99 for the card, and when they recieve your oldati card, they then refund you $50

so NOT as much but maybe the x800 will have like a $100+ rebate

So... why not sell your old card for like $150?
