Does anyone ever use the "topic" field when replying? I notice this because just now, I did use it in the "anti-drug tv ad" thread, and I believe that's the first and only time I've ever seen it used on here .. Why is it even there  it's not a threaded forum ..

TOTALLY useless. If you've got something to say, why not say it in your reply?

Nah. I saw it. but I'm resistant to these new-fangled "subject lines for replies."

It's sure as heck ain't the way it was done in my day.

/shrugs

The only bothersome part to me is that it pushes some stuff around in that space.

My eyes are trained to skip that useless subject line above the replies anyway.

It doesn't really serve a purpose...
2004-09-05, 3:40 AM #13
I find it annoying only because of the way "Post new topic" buttons are on the thread pages.. you can't quickly tell the new topic and new reply pages apart :(

Could that new topic button in threads be removed?

totally utterly pointless. I never read that line unless I want to know exactly when someone posted (which is very rare). as Freelancer said, you're replying anyway, why on earth do you need a title?

I don't really see the point of them.

I dunno, they seem pretty useless to me. Is there a way to get rid of them?

I never read that line anyway.. You could post the meaning of life there, and I'd never be the wiser.

What?

Yes, i suggest removing it. The only time i've ever looked at it is this thread, and that's only because i knew people were going to go craz with it in here.
