Germans worship david hasslehoff like a god. It's true. And I most certainly do not.

I don't like black rappers. I don't like white ones either.

And I think I'm going to make all my posts small this, just to annoy people.

Could be just the station you're watching or a culture thing... and

they're coming to get me... paranoia paranoia
Ya know? Common sense? Not really that common...

I had visions, I was in them,
I was looking into the mirror
To see a little bit clearer
The rottenness and evil in me

Fingertips have memories,
Mine can't forget the curves of your body
And when I feel a bit naughty
I run it up the flagpole and see who salutes
(But no one ever does)

I'm not sick, but I'm not well
and I'm so hot 'cause I'm in hell

Been around the world and found
That only stupid people are breeding
The cretins cloning and feeding
And I don't even own a TV

Put me in the hospital for nerves
And then they had to commit me
You told them all I was crazy
They cut off my legs now I'm an amputee, Goddamn you

I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And I'm so hot cause I'm in hell
I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And it's a sin to live so well

I wanna publish 'zines
And rage against machines
I wanna pierce my tongue
It doesn't hurt, it feels fine
The trivial sublime
I'd like to turn off time
And kill my mind
You kill my mind
Mind...

Paranoia, paranoia
Everybody's comin' to get me
Just say you never met me
I'm runnin' underground with the moles
Diggin' in holes
Hear the voices in my head
I swear to God it sounds like they're snoring
But if you're bored then you're boring
The agony and the irony, they're killing me, whoa!

I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And I'm so hot cause I'm in hell
I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And it's a sin to live this well

(One, two, three, four!)

I love that song.

Okay, during this past summer, I visited my grandparents in Illinois. My grandmom was listening to the radio one morning, as usual, and that day the station just happen to be talking with a rapper named Nelly, who is from St. Louis. Nelly claims that he sings songs that are family-appropriate and not the dirty stuff like other rappers do. A few minutes later, the announcer says that "we can't play any of nelly's songs on the radio due to references to sex and drugs."

Anyone else sense the IRONY?
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

Here come the rap wars . . . again :rolleyes:

Rap used to mean something, but these days, so much of it mainstream and no longer has any true meaning. That's kind if sad, because rap used to be an urban art form, and it's llost these days.

Nice with the Flagpole Sitta, phoenix ;)

Most artists make censored version of their video's themselves, it usually isn't the station that plays the video that decides to censor it.

Yes, you can thank the big corporations for ruining that. Forcing labels to tell the rapper what to rap about, thus making him nothing more then a puppet.

Underground, thats were its at.

"Fulla hatred, pressin a button trying to inject me;
But I ain't got no mother****ing deal with Pepsi;
No corporate sponser telling me what to do;
Asking me to tone it down during the interview;
Tryin' to minimize the issue, but I'm keeping it large;
I love the place that I live, but I hate the people in charge;
Speakin is hard when you got strings attached;
So I'm a say it for you 'cause I ain't got none o' that;
And if you didn't understand what I spit at your brain;
Aiyyo son, let this little n**** explain;

I got no strings to hold be down
To make me fret or make me frown
I had strings, but now I'm free
I got no strings on me"

How is Germany being racist against black rappers? I'm having trouble deciphering the insanely huge and small text fonts and other sorts of oddities in this thread.

In fact, nothing about this thread makes any sense at all. From the thread starter listing rap songs with smilies and the word censored all over the place, to Germans liking David Hasselhoff, to some people actually taking the thread seriously and calling the fact that some guy saw a black German rapper on TV proof of "the racist world we live in".

*sigh*

Explain in what way racism relates to anything in this thread. I still don't get it.

Racism exists in the world today. Racist people exist. Black people have always been suppressed in some way, in both our society and, as much as you might want to disagree, our government.

I'll point out a case in particular, Tupac Shakur. The GOVERNMENT, actually tried to ban his music in the United States. There were pictures of government officials even, on the news, stomping Tupac Shakur CD's on the ground into pieces. This can be seen in his recent movie, Tupac: Resurrection, to clarify if you don't believe me or not.

Do you mean to tell me, that the things that Eminem says, even COMPARE to the things Tupac Said? All tupac really mostly spoke about, was black people standing up against racism, poverty, issues in the world. He had violent songs yes, but none comparable to Eminem. Yes, chainsaw my wifes throat open lock her body in my trunk then drown her...

There have been anti-eminem protests yes, but you've never seen them by Government and such. Just by angry old ladies that don't want their kids listening to it. There was never such a big bru-hah-ha about it as there is with black rappers.
2004-09-08, 10:27 AM #40
I never heard of the "Government" doing this. I'm assuming you're referring to some congressmen or something. That certainly wouldn't represent the totallity of our government.
