Holy crap. I'm officially the most extreme on the "liberal" side of the spectrum. I'm not even a communist; honest. I just don't think governments and corporations telling me what to do is better than choosing myself; even if I make stupid decisions, the fact that they're mine means that they're better for me.

Well I was planning to go Lib Dem when the time comes as they're the only third party who has any shot of making a name any time soon, but I can't believe how far right they've been put! I mean, Labour's position is no surprise AT ALL, but I can't believe the only lefties are the Greens and the BNP!!
Having said that, this site is hardly the be all and end all...

It's muddled thinking to simply describe the likes of the British National Party as "extreme right". The truth is that on issues like health, transport, housing, protectionism and globalisation, their economics are left of Labour, let alone the Conservatives. It's in areas like police power, military power, school discipline, law and order, race and nationalism that the BNP's real extremism - as authoritarians - is clear.

according to that site.

Economic Left/Right: -5.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79

A few of the questions needed more options.

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.08

The questions were far too black and white, by the way. Some of those questions should be answered on a case-by-case basis.

this is a pretty crappy test.

alot of the questions have truths stated and then as you to agree or disagree. While you may think the idea is bad the statement is true, which do you select?

Also, the test is clearly written with a sway. As a more libertarian rightist, I found that many of the questions had slight twists to the wording which would categorize me into the left, although I disagree with it.

Many are also irrelevant to politics and instead rely with stigmas associated with a political side. For instance "The businessman and the manufacturer are more important than the writer and the artist." Agreeing will undoubtedly push you to the left, even though it really has no bearing politically. Finding a job important does not mean it deserves high pay, in fact it doesn't really mean anything politically.

God, this board is truly infested with socialists. Get some sense people!
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.
