My friend died last night in a car accident involving a drunk driver.
He was 19 years old, and a student at Texas A&M University.
He wasn't my best friend, but he was someone I'd had had classes with in High School and someone I knew from other friends we both shared.
At first, I was surprised and thought it wasn't true, but, through the many distraught phone calls I've received today, It's become more and more real.
This really isn't a thread to try to talk about some spiritual beliefs about how he just went to Heaven and is happy. This isn't the place to joke with anyone's feelings. This is rather a slight memorial on a site no one connected with him will ever read.
It's tragic that he's gone, and that my class has lost so many of our own so soon. His death makes a total of 5 from our class alone that have died in the past 3 years.
Combine that with other serious losses in my life, including Adam, whom most of you knew, and I've grow to realize that we've all got a very limited time here.
I just wanted to leave a tiny memorial and a lesson I feel needs to be shared.
"We've got to remember, that for the rest of our lives, we've got to hold on to our own awesomeness and continue to live life to the fullest, everyday. So that when we leave this world, we leave it in peace with what we've done, what we've failed to do, and what we could have done had we just tried."
