Got to drive around, went through some neighborhoods to get shots of the aftermath. Some still had debris from Charley and this is from Frances

At least the houses are pretty much ok.

2004-09-06, 4:47 PM #11
yeah I didn't see too much house damage. This time the winds weren't that strong. Just toppled trees but they were either newer trees, or in areas with older homes.

This was one weak *** hurricane. We got a little wind, a little rain, and lost our power. This thing was a beast just before it hit land, then it just died. I'm sure that down south where the eye went through it was a little worse, but it still couldn't have been too much. Oh well, I guess we have next weekend to try again, yay

My sentiments exactly lol. Lets just hope Ivan decides to turn and misses us. It's become a weekly thing. Giving all of us real practice. We all should be hurricane pro's by the time this season is finished.

Luckily I never lost power during the storm but 1/3 the state of florida (6million people) were without power. I would have been miserable without it. but luckily I never lost it. Lights flickered a couple of times, but luckily no blackout

Hmmm... i wish i was there to see that hurricane
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

If you've ever seen a rain storm, you've seen what I saw of this hurricane. Those of you who missed it didn't miss much. Pretty anti-climactic after the week of extreme hype it got.

You Floridians are getting it up the a** this hurricane season.

We Californians don't even know what rain is compared to you guys. :)

Now that you mention it, my *** does kind of hurt. We ***** about all the rain, but it's MUCH better than the severe draughts we've had over the past 5 or so years. We couldn't even have fireworks for the 4th for a while there.

Yes, us californians don't know what it was like. It was very hot today, over 96F and dry and a rock. I havn'et seen rain in at least six months, and when it does rain it sprinkles most the time... I can't wait for the next earthquake.

Yeah, but they've never rock and rolled in one of our 5.0s.
At least with Hurricanes you get a warning.

That doesn't look too bad, fortunately. I hope things go well with Ivan, too.

Pagewizard: lol yeah it's been back to back it sux :\

Hellequin: yeah i'd never want to be in an earthquake. that is very true, at least we get warnings for hurricanes. & thanks for the words about Ivan, hopefully it will miss us. We wont know for sure till next week. but thanks :)

Oregon is starting to get into it's non summer weather: rain. It didn't rain much during the summer, but it is starting to come back. We have been having a lot more thunderstorms than usual. There was one a few weeks ago that managed to rattle our windows. Another weather oddity is that my friend said he saw a small tornado a few days ago. He was watching a really big dust devil, then it started to suck in the clouds. It didn't last long, though.

yeah a few tornado's were spawned as a result, and when Frances moved over into Georgia they showed some footage of what looked like a F3 tornado spawned from Frances as it passed over them.

Tornadoes are bad business; I'll stick my earthquakes.

Other than random earthquakes (none recently) and a bit of heat (now), it's still beautiful in Southern California.

Do you got room for one more person in your house? lol jk

I'm getting sick of all these hurricanes though, eh o well, that's what I get for living in florida. Like the news reporter says, seems like it's making up time for all those "near misses" we've had through the years

Yeah it's not fun waking up to the ground shaking below your feet. Ivan's disintegrated some. But let us hope Florida is spared this time. Otherwise, might as well have 49 states.
