Favorite lightsaber scenes

Just finished watching the last lightsaber fight in Phantom Menace and I was wondering what is everybody's favorite lightsbaer scene(s)?

I like the final battle between Luke and Vader in Return of the Jedi, the Obi-Wan & Qui-Gonn Vs. Maul battle in Phantom Menace and the execution arena scene in Attack of the Clones is pretty cool.

I think I like the Obi-Wan Qui-Gonn Maul battle the most though out of those three

Yes, me too...it was the most amazing fight scene I had seen. A new level of coolness was reached that day...

My favourite part of it would have to be the Qui-Gon and Maul part, though...just toward the end. There's a real sense of emotion and desperation that comes out, and although not as acrobatic or aesthetically pleasing as the Obi-Wan vs. Maul section, it seems the most important...

Imo, the lightsaber battle between Kenobi, Qui-Gon, and Maul was one of the few good things about Episode I.

Yeap, Qui Gon and Obi Wan vs Maul wins.

Closely followed by Mace Windu vs Jango Fett.

The Empire Strikes Back duel. Bar none. I mean, where else do you find Vader actually playing around with his "enemy"?

I love the Obi Jin Maul fight, but i really like the first few seconds of the Maul and Obi, when they were going so incrediably fast, it was awesome.

Oh yeah, OBI WAN vs. DARTH VADER ALL THE WAY!! !! OLD SKOOL!

the anakin vs obi-wan fight in ep3 will probably be the duel to end all duels.

Until ep. 3 comes out, I would say that the ESB duel is the best one.

Its a throw-up between ESB and TPM. Im nudging more toward ESB, though, because that movie didnt suck.

TPM between Maul, Jinn, and Kenobi. Although I agree that Episode III will probably be a great movie for lightsaber duels.

I like them all. What I find so cool is that no lightsaber fight is like the other. They are all different but nevertheless (is that one word?) they are all so damn cool.

I couldn't agree with you more. I enjoyed all aspects of all of the Star Wars movies, despite the common trend of bashing the prequels. I may be in the minority, and I could care less, but the prequels were great all around...even Jar Jar Binks (he did for the prequels what R2D2 and C3PO did for the originals).

The final duel in RotJ, but not so much for the duel as the moment Anakin beats Darth Vader. He looks at Luke, twisting on the floor in agony, then looks at the emperor who's ruthlessly tormenting Luke, then at Luke again...

It's emotional. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Episode II definitely. I love the arena scene with all the Jedi, and Yoda fighting Dooku was funny, but also very cool. The little old guy has got some moves. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

ESB had a fair deal of ownage. IMO the Yoda fight was cringingly bad (would've been ok if it was half the speed) but I do stand alone on many fronts [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

In order:

TPM: Technically cool, aesthetically pleasing, no emotion. Take that for what you will.

AotC: Horrid. Just.. horrid. 'Nuff said. Yoda was just wrong, the lightsaber scenes were weird, and totally stupid and unnecessary display of force powers.

ANH: Best of the best. I'd venture to say the Obi vs. Vader fight is the best of the best. You can't beat the scenes where the stormies look all confused and gather around to watch the fight. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

ESB: Very emotional, cool locales, and drawn out. It's not just one heated battle, and it serves a purpose. Coolest locale of them all.

RotJ: Very emotional, again. Best music, best sense of "epicness", what with the emperor's taunting and all, as well as the trap laid by the Imperial fleet. Nothing better than Vader hurling his master into the power core.

I didn't like it either. I thought it was rediculously corny... Yoda was so much cooler when he was assumed to never use a lightsaber, but simply kick butt with the force (like Palpatine)

God, I hope not... see, this kind of ruins it for me. The way I always saw it was that first you start out as a Jedi Knight, then once you advanced and became like some kind of awesome super-master, you no longer had any use for a saber, and simply became an object-levetating, lightningbolt-tossing mean guy in a cloak.

Yoda couldn't defeat Dooku with Force powers, that's why he had to defend himself with a lightsaber.

I'd have to say I like all the fights equally... they're all special in their own way. And oh please, if anyone says, "TPM and AOTC's fights were too well done," you need some help. The trilogy ones were slower paced and less flashy to have more emotional impact, and the prequel ones fast paced to be exciting and show the energy that Jedi had back in their glory days.
