Question: If one were to use an anti-perspirant, would the sweat that would normally come from the pits be routed to come out elsewhere else?

No, I think it actually blocks the sweat glads from producing sweat. Not sure though.

I never really bothered with anti-perspirant since I sweat from my entire body when I'm doing any kind of physical avtivity.

The aluminum ions in antiperspirants force surrounding cells to swell with water until the sweat ducts close. The cells continue to expand until an equilibrium is reached, and slowly release water as sweat levels drop.

...ok. Basically it causes the cells that line the sweat ducts to swell with water until the duct closes. Think of the sweat duct as a hose. The swelling cells pinch the hose shut.

Yes. Anti-persperants make you hotter. Deoderant is the way to go.

I think the deo/anit-perspirant is the way to go. Just deodorant alone doesn't keep you from sweating, so you get that awful B.O. mixed with deodorant smell, which is usually worse than just the B.O. itself.
