Clerks X
2004-09-08, 7:27 PM #1
Well, since Clerks X was released yesterday, and my pre-ordered copy has yet to come in (Damn you, View Askew, DAMN YOU!), I figured I'd get some initial reactions from those who've already picked it up, if there are any. So please, ease my pain.

And on a side note, they had some pictures of the release party at the west coast Secret Stash at www.newsaskew.com , and Jason Mewes actually looks healthy! I guess he had a bit of an addiction problem, and has been sober for a while now. It's kind of wierd, Brian O'Halloran is the only one who looks even remotely the same as they did 10 years ago.

Nope. Though there is a sequel in the works, Clerks X is the tenth anniversary "special edition". It's a three-disk set with a bunch of extra stuff, including the original cut of the film. Needless to say, I am very irritated that my copy (which is supposedly signed by Kevin Smith himself) hasn't arrived.

I will be picking a copy of that DVD tomorrow. Wait, it is out in stores, right?
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

Its a great set . . . I got the second to last copy that the Best Buy. Apparently its selling like hotcakes everywhere. The documentary on the third disc "The Sonwball Effect" is as long as the movie itself. It gives isane amounts of insight into what all went into Smith's decision to make a movie and the strugles that came about in the process.

I definately don't regret gettign this DVD, but I'm just trying to figure out what the heck I'm gonna do with my original DVD since everythign that's on it is on the new version too.

OMFG! I got it today at Best Buy for only $15! The 3 Disc DVD set. Ok, so I had to buy Jay and Silent Bob Strikes back. Meh who cares?

The asking price is $35 at most places, but Best Buy had $25 on it. When I went up front, it scanned at $20, and then I got the extra $5 off it. So I only spent $15 on it, and $15 for Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

They had like 10 copies at the Barnes & Noble near me. I thought about getting it because people talk about it, but I've never seen it and I really really hate the characters of Jay & Silent Bob. Everything else in those movies are great, I loved Mallrats and Dogma, just Jay grates on my nerves and Silent Bob is just... silent.

The funny thing is, in Clerks (Kevin Smith's first film), Jay and Silent Bob were tiny characters, just a couple of dopeheads outside the store who made a couple of appearances during the film. The characters were loved, and so in each successive film they got bigger and bigger until..they got their own film. If you hate those two, Clerks is probably the best bet for you.
