That totally isnt garfield. And that totally isnt Odie. Why couldnt they at least settle on using the same method to bring both of them to the screen? A mix of a totally CGI cat and a real dog just doesnt work, imo.

Yea... and Garfield (just by judging this trailer, of course) doesn't seem to act lazy enough or talk like it seems he would (like in the comics)
But it's got the vet in it!

Do you hear that?

It's the sound of another childhood memory being mercilessly butchered by Hollywood.

I was never a big fan of Garfield (the strip anyway... the cartoon was decent as a kid), but this is..... this is beyond bad.
2003-12-13, 8:23 AM #6
Terrible. I wish that instead of this crap (okay, I obviously haven't seen this thing yet, but I can tell) the cartoon's creators would come up with something like any episode of the show, only in a full-length movie. It worked with South Park.

Oh brother...
It doesn't even have his voice from the cartoons. It's not garfield without the garfield voice... or animation... or comedy... or personality... or not-stupidness... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/mad.gif]

It seriously baffles me how a director can look at something like this and truthfully say to himself "yep, I've done a good job."

Argh.

Oh, and the Odie actually is CGI, just by an artist 20x better than the one who did Garfield. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif]

And the 'plot' has absolutely nothing to do with Garfield.

As has been CLEARLY set down, that was not in any way the Garfield/Odie we know. As for the voice, it probably wouldn't be too hard to find a guy that sounds pretty similar to the original Garfield would it?
The movie I'll make will be better than this Wannabe movie:

No. This is so wrong. Garfield's mouth never opened. NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO. They could have at least gotten the colors right or the voice even remotely close. No. Damnit! No.
