http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/09/10/wtc.damages.saudi.reut/index.html

Give me a FREAKING BREAK. Okay, so some terrorists killed 3000 people, exploded half a dozen buildings, downed three planes, and tanked the economy for a few years. And the previous owners of the world trade centers are going to SUE another country? I can't believe this crap. If someone rapes and kills your wife, are you going to sue the company they worked for? If someone wrecks your car, how about you sue the governement who made the roads?

Every freaking thing in this country revolves around money and it's sickening. How can you make something so devastating so TRIVIAL by bringing it to some court to earn a few bucks?

Sorry I'm in a bad mood. It seems like things are getting worse and worse. We're turning into a country of whining little sissies that have nothing better to do than get botox injections and debate war records from candidates that happened decades ago. If people spent as much energy doing something positive as they do whining and complaining and being victims of this that and the other, the world would be a much better place.

I agree with you Brian, are lives are so bent around making money that we have lost meaning. These people are actually trying to profit off the deaths of 3000 people. Thats a terribly sickening thing. And all it is is to make money, what are world seems to be revolving around.

But isn't it so, that the funding of a lot of terrorists comes in fact from that region?

Even if they do somehow win, having all that money is NOT going to change the fact that all those people are dead, the WTC is destroyed, or all the other horrible stuff that's happened after 9/11. I'm sick of everyone looking for closure in matters by sueing people.

Kind of stupid to just single out Saudi Arabia in this lawsuit. The Al Qaeda terrorists are the ones that did the crime - why are they NOT being sued? I fail to see the logic in this situation.

How the hell can you sue a country?

WTF? Yeah, some arsewipes destroyed our building, so lets sue their country!! Yeah, and while were at it, lets kill a few kittens!

Their 'bongholders' can burn in hell. ..No, wait, Ive got a better idea... Lets all run over to the Middle East, find the families of the idiots that did the thing, and take their money!

The sad thing is that completely innocent Saudis are going to suffer because of this.

how do you sue an elusive terrorist organization?

However, this whole lawsuit thing sucks. Saudi Arabia doesn't have anything personally to do with it.

Ok, maybe not sue them but I think you get what I was trying to say.

The USA attacked the terrorist supporting Iraq, so why can't they sue the terrorist supporting Saudi Arabia?

Yeah this is incredibly stupid. This only gives more credence to my belief in the gov't finding some way of stopping stupid and frivolous lawsuits. This is asinine.

sickening yet hilarious

and the first thing that popped into my head upon seeing this was an Eagles song

"you say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash,
but you might feel better if I gave you some cash"
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

I can't believe this of scum hipocracy. We should all go and hold signs up that say:

81 down, the rest to be sued
Nothing to see here, move along.

It's interesting how there's disgust and condemnation at the sueing of a country that had nothing to do with the World Trade Centre attacks, but there's celebration and admiration of the invasion of a country that had nothing to do with the World Trade Centre attacks.

Indeed. Not everyone was cheering when, one day, for no given reason, a few planes start bombing iraq.

If it is provable that the Saudi Government aided al Qaeda then this would certainly be valid. Why is it that some of you are angrier at those who have suffered the hardest from the attack than those who may have helped.

Mort, why do you keep bringing up Iraq? What I mean is, how does Iraq relate to the current discussion of sueing Saudi Arabia?

Because the only reason we went into Iraq was to apprehend terrorists, it seems.

But there were and are terrorists in Iraq. We just never claimed there was a connection between Iraq and 9/11. Essentially the war is a pre-emptive strike. Not that "Iraq" was going to attack us, per se, but that the potential for their support of those who would attack us was unacceptable.
