oh god, drinking... we used to do that. And i'm not interested in fish. And if i took up a hobby for every bad thing that happened, i'd have no time left. And i've fallen for her too much to even dare think of a bad quality......

A bunch of self-righteous f***-ups thought it caused health problems back in the prohibition era, so it was banned, although in likely the health problems were caused by cheaply-made absinthe that had toxic chemicals in it to produce the green color and the clouding effect.

Good high-quality absinthe is no more dangerous than any other alcoholic beverage when taken in moderation. Although it does contain a toxic chemical, you would have to drink gratituous ammounts of absinthe (and would first succumb to alcohol poisoning) long before you were harmed by this chemical.

We should get a bill going to re-legalize wormwood-containing drinks, b/c they are not that dangerous. True, there are absinthe-like drinks that do not contain wormwood, but they are not the real thing.

actually a hobby is a great way to get your mind off something that's bothering you, and if you took up a hobby for every bad thing that happened, you would be a pretty talented and well-rounded person. colleges would just love you

it is Absinth. a bunch of famous artists use to drink it cause if you do enough of it (apparently) you will trip. it is also called the green fairy. if you ever have a chance to do some, take the chance my friend. i will be in Amsterdam next year (oh sweet lord yes!)

Contrary to popular belief, absinthe does not get you high-- its like being drunk without the stupor. You remain lucid, in other words.

hmm basically the only advice I can think to give is what other people have said.

Try picking up a new hobby, if you find yourself thinking about her switch to think about something else.

If you all have decided you cant do something long distance, maybe just starting to look around at other girls who you do see a lot.

Even if you dont date them just start flirting it will take your mind off of it.

And if all else fails looking at her bad qualities (although I saw you already put you didnt' want to do that) but you'd be amazed when you try and take off the rose colored googles what you will see.

Granted if you and her didn't have a bad parting then maybe you wont want to do that. If that's the case then yeah, just pick up a hobby to get your mind off of her. Try catching some more flicks when you think about her, and just get lost in the movie instead
