So who else has a callous on their wrist due to mouse usage?
2004-09-13, 2:47 PM #1
This morning I noticed that I had a callous on my right wrist. I examined my left wrist and noted that there was not a callous there. I concluded that the callous came from too much mouse use, as when I move my mouse my right wrists rubs against the wood of my desk.

This depresses me. :(

Here's a picture for your viewing enjoyment. You can't really see it all that well in the picture, but I can sure feel it.

I have a callous on the back of my foot from my crappy shoes, but am happy to report a callous-free wrist. My wrist is thus designated a callous/nuclear-free zone.

Wow. Personally, I think I'd have noticed the rubbing long before a callous developed. :)

Well, simple solution: get a mousepad, which will raise the mouse up so your wrist won't rub the desk. Cost: ~$1.

I don't use my mouse nearly enough to cause that.

As for the keyboard, I have become so used to leaning back and typing with my left hand, that I can finally say that I have become a faster typer with my left hand than my right. Which is the exact opposite for me when writing, and throwing, and all other sorts of things.

Since I'm on the line of left hand / right hand, you all know of "reversed" mice, or mice made to fit either hand? Well how come video game controllers aren't the same? Surely you would like as much accuracy in that SSBM tourny as you would in that JK tourny!

My skin seems to feel a bit thicker in that area, but that's all. I, too, avoid my mouse wherever possible.

I hate trackballs. Never liked them. Can't stand to use them. I even can stand using a ball mouse anymore. Gotta go optical.
