They could've at least made it sound more convincing...

5,555 Diskettes! That would take forever to install, plus... could you imagine the box of the game? It'd HAVE to be huge!

And a sports car in an Unreal Tournament game? That definitely doesn't fit the UT games...

200 Maps! That's 120 more than UT2K4 has... (according to the Maps folder in my UT2K4 Directory)

And the system requirements are totally far fetched....

Why would they make a game that only Linux users could use? That would destroy their sales...

1 Gig of RAM... that's somewhat reasonable, but that too would limit their consumer base.

Dual Monitors... also a limit to their consumer base...

T3 Connection.... that's just way out of the league of any normal home-user. Limits their customer base.

They may as well just burn all the production money... they'd have just about the same result.

Not to mention, with a dual-monitor setup in Linux, 3d accell doesnt work...

Since when? I have no problems with that.

That's fairly far down, as far as jokes go... I could have done better than that (but I didn't even try for a joke yesterday). Second place goes for "DF Gold", and first place for the cancelation of the Dark Tide Series for DF.

You could make the "Nuclear Winter" maps for UT2k4, though... I'd like to see how well gameplay fares there, or are there hundreds of such maps out already? (the product of editing noobs)

Also, the only way you could proprtion the poster it and keep the edges even would be to make it 101x55 diskettes in size... That'd be 192.5 inches tall, 363.6 inches tall, give that a floppy is slightly taller than it is wide... Also, the total capacity of all those disks is less than 7.5 GB, as there are 1,024 Megabytes to a Gigabyte, not 1,000...

Anyway, I think third place goes to Blizzard, for their "Dual-headed Ogre" joke.

Man some people take a joke too seriously [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

The intention was not to trick people, but just to get everyone a bit of a laugh. OBVIOUSLY 5,555 diskettes would be crazy. I also rounded to get that number, and if you use the hard disk size measurement (1000 bytes = kilobyte) standard, it IS correct. The diskette idea was poking fun at the serious CD copyright protection problems UT2003/4 has faced.

And the Linux + Dual Monitor joke was to poke fun at the fact that Epic is so hardcore into Linux, but doesn't always follow through well. See the UT2003 installer.

As for the sports car: Oh come on, wouldn't YOU want to blow up a $100,000 car with a rocket launcher, all while avoiding it coming at you at 150MPH?

200 maps: How is this that unbelievable? Meh.

Linux requirement: Again, poking fun at Epic, nothing more.

The "limiting consumer base" thing shows you don't understand. It's a joke, geez. You took it the wrong way.

T3: Just showing the way of lag these days.

Ya'll need a life or something! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
