The many dances of the programmer:

The C++ Dance: There are only two ways of doing it, and both have disadvantages.

The Java Dance: Much like the C++ Dance, but people like it in every country.

The Visual Basic Dance: Though originally intended for uptight people, it is now mainly practiced by tribes of cannabilistic savages who can't understand anything else.

The HTML Dance: Well, it's not really a dance per se, but everyone does it anyway.

The Perl Dance: Very hard for the beginner to understand because you can do it however you want, as long as it conveys the right feeling/message.

The PHP Dance: The Perl Dance for people without rhythm.

The Whitespace Dance:

The Flash/Actionscript Dance: While it appears that there are many dances that come out of this, on close inspection they are all really the same.

Post your own! (I couldn't think of a good BASIC one, help me out!)

No Python dance? Oh well.

/me does the HTML dance with a little of the C dance mixed in.
The tired anthem of a loser and a hypocrite.

Ho! I used to be a semi-savage cannibal, because I understood also something else. I guess there was something captivating in savagery, because I liked it.

How many people do you know that both
A) Know the dance
B) Go to the prom

The BASIC dance: The dance your grandparents used to do.

Yeah.. my friends actually made up a C++ dance..

"Ready? *jump up straight*"
"Void main!"
"C" (makes a C with their bodies, a la YMCA)
"Plus!" *makes a cross with their arms* * throws arms away from body*
"Plus!" *repeats above*

They may have had more, but we never let them go any futher.

It was the scariest thing I've ever known.

Now that I'm taking a C programming course, I actually understand now why it is called C++.

The LISP dance: Commonly called "The Robot"

The Assembler Dance: Only two dance moves, repeated over and over.

Those are all I could think of at the moment.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Actually I think that would be the Machine code dance, I would say that:

The Assembler Dance: A dance in which you can only move one part of your body at a time, and you can only use moves specified by the particular dance hall you are in.

Also:

The VB.Net Dance: The same as the Visual Basic Dance, but you can't use any of the same moves.

The Fortran Dance: Like the original C dance, but done in 6.5/13 time with the ability to use non-integer steps.

The mIRC script dance: You can do it with other people, but all it really involves is poking everyone in the eye whenever someone says or does anything.
I'm just a little boy.

The robot ... self explainatory
2004-09-15, 4:33 AM #18
The Bash Script Dance: While you can do some cool moves, it's really just something you do to pretend to dance while looking for good-looking girls.

The Batch Script Dance: It really wishes it were the Bash Dance...

/me does the Perl Dance and some C++ Dance moves as well.
