Will KOTOR run on my system?
2004-09-14, 5:55 AM #1
I know it will, I just want to know if it will run WELL, so with all you guys experience, I want to know. I haven't bought it yet.

System specs:

P4 2.4 Ghz

256 Mb RAM

GeForce 2 MX400 (64 mb)

52x CD-ROM drive

Anything else?
This is not the sig you are looking for. Move along.

WTF. That GFMX400 is the SUCK. It'll kill any gaming you want to do, trust me. If you need a video card, post your budget for that area, and I'll give you a card.

Enough said. It's supposed to work on a 32 mb card this ones 64!

KOTOR, I mean.
This is not the sig you are looking for. Move along.

Yes but its also a GF2 Mx. The game might run, but not well.

The biggest mistake anyone can make is to judge a video card based on its memory size. You could have a Voodoo1 with 512MB, and it STILL won't run FarCry.

Hahahaaha nice.

I have that exact same video card, and KotOR runs fine on my computer without any noticable lag (with all the settings turned down, though).

Mabye at 640x480. You really need a better video card. And NOT an FX 5200.

Yes, the PowerColor is the only exception to Radeons I see...

Anyway, the GF2MX will let you play it, but plan on turning down the settings, perhaps quite a lot, depending on our taste for 5FPS gameplay.
Wake up, George Lucas... The Matrix has you...

I have almost the exact same specs just 512 RAM and i can run it on full detail. well, at least as full as it'll let me

it detects your video card and if you got stuck with an MX it'll block you from choosing options that will kill you.

I just beat it last night actually on Light with a Scoundrel for my first time through. I think any other class would be boring.

He wanted it to run well, though, was the point. I don't consider 640x480 with graphics that rival JK's running well.

My system is 600 mhz, 256 MB ram and I am using a FX 5200. It runs pretty nice for me.

"Oh."

There's no earthly way a 600MHz processor is gonna run KotOR. You MUST be mistaken.

I definitely had it set on 1280x1024, not 640x480

Okay then, 1280x1024, but also the 256MB of RAM is a HUGE difference, don't forget that.

But did you have many effects on?

Uh.. What the heck? KOTOR's minimum is 500 mhz (600 mhz prolly) am I not mistaken?

I can see DJ Yoshi holding his head yelling: "GOOD GOD!" while reading the posts of people playing games on crappy hardware. ;)
