I learnt that whilst many April 1 jokes are lame and halfhearted, the accompanying wave of bitterness and hostility is much more annoying. Some people make anal retentiveness an artform.

I just got back from my school. Why did I have to go up there so late? It's because I learned what happens when you act from heated emotion and not rational thought.

My friend told the intended victim of my very fun, very innocent prank that it was going to happen and thus ruined my fun. On top of this, he did two pranks on me during the day. It makes me very angry that he would ruin a good prank.

We share a locker. I took his stuff out and put it on the floor in the hall. Over $100 of textbooks and binders full of his work. Thinking in hindsight, if something were to happen to the books then I would be in big trouble. Not only would I be responsible for the cost, but the school might also take action. I had to go up there and put them away because I wasn't going to let a dumb mistake hurt me.

They say revenge is a dish best served cold. Tonight I learned why. Acting directly off of anger is something I could learn to regret, but I'm glad I instead learned to avoid it.
