Next time I post something completely uninformative just to increase my post count, I will risk being banned.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

The big "if" is what grade of AthlonXP you MB supports... I'm going to be slightly pessimistic, and presume that it only supports Thorton core-XP (up to 2400+, I believe). However, there is a chance that it has full support for Barton-Core (2500+ and beyond) CPUs...

Anyway, I see £250 should be plenty for a decent upgrade... Please be sure to Froogle any products you're looking for, to make sure you aren't ripped off.

Presuming you have a board that's 133Mhz FSB and support only Thorton (up to 2400+):
 • AMD Athlon XP 2400+, £43 ($75US) from www.tigerdirect.com (they have the Cheapest CPUS, though I'm still not sure if they ship outside of US/Canada)
 • Saphire Radeon X600 Pro, £82 ($145US) from ENet (I'd recommend searching for this one, as I'm not to certain about this store)
 • 256MB Module of PC2100 266Mhz DDR SDRAM, £22 ($38US) from NewEgg (It's OEM though. There are cheaper, though possibly less reliable sites, and retail memory will be more expensive. Be sure to Froogle this if that's what you want)

Be adding more soon...

nottheking--he's obviously british. Newegg prices don't help him.

I'd suggest an Athlon XP 2500+, 1x512MB of PC2700 or better RAM, and then save up till you have 300-ish bucks, and get a 6800 non-ultra, non-GT. Best bet.
