Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII

The game will center on Vincent Valentine and the story of the game takes place one year after the events of Advent Children. The plot will revolve around a group known as the DGs who have been attacking towns throughout the world. Since Vincent is the protagonist, you can't help, but wonder if Cloud dies in Advent Children.....

That's awesome. It doesn't necessarily mean that Cloud dies, though. They could have just decided to focus on the story of Vincent since he's one of the most mysterious characters as of now.

FF7 is already getting that "before the thingie" game that is a prequel to FF7, and involves the turks (THis is going to be on the mobile phone...)

FF7 also has advent children. Why not do something useful with the series, like, I dunno, remake Mystic Quest, or make a sequel to a game that kinda needs it. FF7 had the end of the world basicly, so it dosen't need a sequel. FF8 ended with zell chocking on hotdogs, and squall disapearing. I WANNA KNOW WHERE HE WENT.

They're not going to leave it alone.

I swear I remember fanboys a year ago asking for a sequel and more story to this game. Square/Enix decided to listen... and now people are  because they are doing so. How nice.

Personally, if it pisses off people, I am for it. That said, looking forward to this.

Draw us a picture about it? ;)

Yeah, I'm interested in Advent Children, but I never REALLY liked FF7, so it's not that interesting to me. Besides that, Cloud's no longer even a MAN.

Meh, I'll be happy if they stay with Sony. PS3 comes out before the "revolution" (what kind of a name is THAT  )

Sony still deserves FF and all that. I mean, it was smart of SE to switch over as soon as PSX came out.

Anyways, I really would think a remake of MQ would be pretty neat. Keep the battle system, but make it a bit harder and in 3d. *shrug*

PS: FF3j is the best FF on the planet. Go onion kids.

If you watched to the end of the credits you'd see Squall and Rinoa on the balcony kissing.

FF1- FF7 were awesome. I hated 8-X2, they just sucked.

Tactics rocks, I haven't played XI yet, but I hear good things. Crystal Chronicles isn't a real FF game, but it's still fun. (well I mean it's REAL it just doesn't play like a regular FF game)

There is a possbility that this could be an action game and not an RPG. There were rumors of a FF action game awhile ago....

9 was the only FF title I really actually DISLIKED. 7 can't keep my interest long enough to listen to the painful midis, and the graphics leave me questioning all the more what's going on. The lack of voice acting in all of them annoys me, and 10 just doesn't feel FF enough for me.

But no, they need to not make sequels to FF games. They're just not meant to be that way. The ONLY thing I thing could be done, is remakes with better graphics, and refined dialogue with voice actors.

And I'm still waiting for a PC port of the games that feels GOOD on the PC, not just a port.

I really want FF4-6 to be remade, but then again...I don't. They were perfect as they were, as sprites. I'm just interested how they'd be represented on today's technology.

Imagine, a morrowind-esque FF.

what? you mean with all the AMD issues and non-linear gameplay? lol well ya i see your point... a Morrowind-esque remake of something like... oh id say... FF1 (GO GARLAND) would be quite the thing to see

It'd be kinda awesome. I want something like FFXI that has a story and that you don't have to pay for. Basically Fable Fantasy. ;)

Why would Square Enix want to stop focusing on Playstation* when their FF games sell better than Evian in Hollywood on it?
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I don't know why you people are saying cloud is dead... this game takes place after FF7, but before Advent Children.... so there's no way cloud could be dead, cause he is in AC.. that being said.. there's some pics at www.the-magicbox.com

Square Enix announced a new PS2 RPG called Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, a sequel / spinoff of Final Fantasy VII. The story takes place one year after the events in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

The Cloud being dead part is nothing, but mere speculation on my part. Thanks for the screenshots though, the game really looks like some Devil May Cry type of action game then a tradition RPG game.
