Well, I go to a chatholic school, and every year we have something called "Spirit Week". Spirit week is a week where we all have to show our school spirit. and we get to play dress up on Spirit week according to designated dats (For Instance, Western Day or Class Color Day). this year we have an interesting one that the geekier crowd chose. it is Ninja Vs. Pirate Day. which got me thinking, what is the greater of the two? Pirates have the bad *** factor, while Ninja have the coolness factor. it could go either way, your thoughts on which is the better of the two?

Gah! There's been many debates over it, and it's been clear that Ninjas beat pirates hands down! (There was a Gamespy Grudgematch over this where Pirates got 62%, but they no longer seem to be making old grudgematches availible).

What we do need, for 1337 geekiness on this thread, is a list of power, with the best at the top and the worst at the bottom. Right now, it is well known that Ninjas>Pirates. Of course, you'll have to work out where Mechs, Jedi, and Bill Gates fit into the list...

Anyways, yeah, my highschool has one of those spirit week things too....it's freakin anoying! :mad: ...except the scantly-clad cheerleaders are nice to have in class. :p

I think a Ninjas coolness would totally overwhelm a Pirate - even if they had like, three asses so as to be extremely badass. So a Ninja would win, but Pirates are still wicked (mostly because of SpeakLikeAPirate Day. Yarr)

Wow, I can't beleive anybody could think a pirate would ever beat a ninja.
Ninjas are supposed to be masters of every combat, silent as the wind, deadly as a... very... deadly... thing.... etc...

Definately Ninjas then. Pirates are okay, but TLAP day isnt actually one of their functions, so it doesnt make them any cooler.

Well, one-on-one, a Ninja could take a Pirate, cos a pirate would have to handle any cannon himself.

If theres enough pirates to operate the cannon, then equalise the teams by adding the same number of ninjas. Working together, the ninjas would totally pwn the Pirates.

Ninjas do cool stuff too. But you know what? Theyre so stealthy, that you never see it. Thats way cooler than that obvious pirate stuff. Way cooler.

So you admit that ninjas are cool. The point I'm trying to make is, you only see ninjas being cool about 5% of the time - the rest of the time, theyre being stealth-cool, and thus you are mistaken in thinking pirates are cooler - you just assume ninjas arnt as cool because you cant see them being amazingly cool.

Ease up there. Yes I admit that ninjas are cool but what I was getting at was that say, on a coolness scale of 1 to 10, pirates rate a 10 while ninjas rate around 3.

I've dressed up as both for various events. You can be a whole lot more creative with the pirate grap.
