Holy crap.. You'd think that the guy could at least double check the address! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/eek.gif]

And what kind of sick woman would consent to something like that? (Men are already sick; no need for that question..)

How the heck did they stuff in charges of illegal drug possession?

Anyways... He's a twisted guy, but it was an honest mistake. I think they should let him go.

Or at least give him a suspended sentence and probation. Or charge him for the drugs only. I mean, he didn't go through with it so he's really only guilty of assault and breaking & entering. He didn't steal anything either. Odd.

Eh, you don't actually have to "go through with it" to be charged for sexual assault.

I think he deserves whatever punishment they give him. I mean, it was obviously a bad idea to begin with... he should have been more careful.

You have to assault someone sexually. He didn't. They had to charge him with "attempted sexual assault."

Uh, yeah, he attacked her and intended to rape her. Sounds like attempted sexual assault to me...

He didn't intend to rape anybody. If he had actually gone to the correct address it wouldn't have been rape because the woman had given permission. It would have been rape role-play. A fetish, nothing more.

He only committed a crime through going to the wrong address. So he should be charged for breaking and entering and assault, but given a reduced punishment.

[Edit]

If the woman had been unable to convince him to stop, then he should be charged with rape. But this wasn't the case.

Maybe I'm confused, but it sounds like the woman the man intended to meet up with was okay with the "rape". I thought rape was when one party didn't desire the ... sex.

Either way, what happened was very sick and disgusting.

So he deserves possible LIFE IN PRISON (Which you can get for those combined sentences) for screwing up on the wrong house? I think he should be punished, yah, but not LIFE. IN. PRISON.

That's just kinky sex gone bad. If the "kink" wasn't rape, it would've probably have been funny. However, how would he know if she really didn't want to be raped, or whether she was just playing along?

He should've double-checked the address.

You people are missing the point. It's not that "all he did was get the wrong house," it's what he caused to somebody else who should have had nothing to do with the whole thing to begin with. Like I said, it was a stupid idea to begin with, therefore he should have been more careful (or just gotten smart and never had it happen), and since he wasn't he should face the concequences that could have been predicted had he put any thought into what he was doing whatsoever.

He did what he did, and it was entirely his decision and entirely his fault. He had it comming.

It's easy to say the guy should be let off the hook, but look at the victim. She deserves to be protected by law just as much as anyone.

What if Dr. Kervorkian operated on the wrong patient? Of course, he's still in jail now... and he always had permission to do what he did.

Ummm, I think you all miss that he pleaded guilty. He knows what he has done and he knows that he has to be punished. He only has a real problem if he can't get the woman he really intended to "visit" doesn't turn up as a witness.

Life in prison does not mean he will literally spend life in prison, most likely not even close.

Lol. Point to Spork. Personally I think it was just a botched thing, and I think he deserves to be punished, although more out of decency than anything else, but like...community service, probation for a couple years. I mean, I think even a year in prison might be doing too much. It wasn't an overall horrible thing that he meant to do (real rape), and he didn't act stupidly in doing it...it's just that he got the wrong house. Had it been the right house, well...oh well.

How can people consider rape a fantasy... rape is worse than killing someone, not only does it scar them for life, it also buts them within a fortress that no one will ever be able to break, they basically get blocked out from ever loving or feeling affection towards anyone from it, most of the people who have been raped would have rather died than lived through it. If anyone ever told me they had raped someone and got away with it, or fantasized about raping someone... I would probably be charged with assault or attempted murder on that person.

A lot of women have rape fantasies. I don't understand it either, but just because they might fantasize about it doesn't mean it's okay to sneak up on a girl in an alley.
