So I decided that I'd finally give in and spring for an XBox. So I'm home for the weekend and decide to swing by Wal-Mart... Go up to electronics, look, yay an XBox there and everything I was planning on getting they had...

So, I go up to the electronics desk to ask someone to open up the cabinet so I can get an XBox. There's one guy right in front of me at the desk. So the woman asks him what he needs. Of course he says, "An XBox." So of course he gets that one in the case. I think "Ok, there are probably others in there behind that one." So I go look. Nope. Ask them if they have any others somewhere else. Nope.

Ok, no biggy, it's only about 9:10, I figure K-Mart is still open since it's Friday and surely they have one... Go to K-Mart, nope, apparently they close at 9 on Fridays (I never knew this before today). (FYI, my hometown is a moderate sized town where the only places that sell video game related things are Wal-Mart and K-Mart.)

Meh, I was all ready to drop $300 on new toys and got shot down. =( Guess I could go back to K-Mart tomorrow, but with my luck they're probably out as well...

(And yeah, please don't turn this into "This console is better than that one" because I have a GC, played lots of PS2 stuff, and personally I like them all.)

I need to drop about that much as well for one before Nov. 9th.

I want an Xbox, Halo, and then I'm going to preorder the Collectors Edition of Halo 2.

Probably end up doing all of that by the end of the month, funds in the checking account willing.

Yeah, that's one reason I decided to get one. While in my opinion it's ok for an FPS(I'm not a big console FPS guy), it's a great dorm game. Was going to use it to contribute a little to hall LAN games. Also had really been wanting to check out some games like Ninja Gaiden.

Uhh, yeah, I've been playing both PC and console games for probably 15 years, so don't give me that crap...

Follow the advice your name gives, please. It's out money, we'll spend it how we'll choose. Stop being such a PC fanboy. I know for a solid FACT that I'll have BILLIONS of times more fun playing Xbox games against live human beings that I know then I will playing a game against some cold body that lives on the opposite side of the world from me and has the maturity and intellect of a 5 year old.

I think I know what I want and I don't need you trying to convince me otherwise.

Thank you. I think I'll be going to bed now.

Yeah, not much rivals the experience of actually being in the same room with the person whose *** you're kicking.

I miss those days of playing Mario Kart battle mode on the SNES against my brothers for hours. I don't think much compares to that.

My brother-in-law has an Xbox. He let me hold on to it when he had to leave for Iraq to serve his active duty but sadly, his selection of games SUCKED so I just let it collect dust over the past months (seriously, it collected a LOT of dust. So cop webs too I might add). Well, he is back now so he got his Xbox back. Too bad my sister got him KotoR after he got it back :(

Ninja Gaiden in Terms of SP is a much Better Game then Halo,

It Also a very hard game, or I should say the learning curve is a bit steep, almost a slap in the face the 1st time you git to a hard part.even on easy mode, But after you git used to how you should fight its all good.

me, my brother, and sister set up a lan network for the express purpose of beating the crap out of each other in age of empires. we would be in seperate rooms of the house, brake right before the big battel and congerate in the kitchen to heckel eachother about who had the bigger army and stragity. *goodtimes*
Laughing at my spelling herts my feelings. Well laughing is fine actully, but posting about it is not.

We do that with Galactic Battlegrounds and Rise of Nations. Anyone notice that the Wookies are very aggressive?
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

The few Lan parties I've been too, were incredibly quiet as everyone was using headphones and mics to taunt each other.

I don't know about you, but I much prefer to be sitting right next to my opponent so I'm able to sneer in his face when I beat him down. Computer Lan parties can come very close, but I still think sitting right next to the guy your playing is better.
