So I have a dual monitor system set up now... I just told windows to extend my desktop in the display settings but I was wondering if there was software that could be used specifically or if the display settings are enough?

That's a bit of a general question. Really you should be asking yourself "Is there anything I want to do that I can't do with the current setup" if not then I guess that answers your question.

My brother has dual monitors set up (well, one monitor, one TV screen, really), and whilst windows handles most of the stuff, one thing that was annoying him is that you can't have seperate backgrounds for each monitor. Is there any way to fix this?

There is. Join two wallpapers together. (Of course, they need to be the right resolutions).

no need for another program to sap your system resources. create a double wide background, set as wall paper, and choose Tile should come up on both montiors.

It took me half a year to figure this out :confused:

What happens when you play games? Does it like stretch to fill both monitors, or does it load on one monitor and leave the other on the desktop? So what happens when you move your mouse too much to the right, does the cursor then pan over to the second monitor?

When you play games, the cursor is "Stuck" inside the game window. Although you can alt tab or ctrl-esc to unstick it and move it across to the other monitor. Good for chatting on irc/msn and gaming at the same time

No games wont stretch over (at least I tried and they didnt, you might be able to) and yeah if you move the mouse over, it will move to the second monitor. Whenever I play a game, I just disable the second monitor, because I fgure it's an unnessecary load on my video card when it is already working hard enough with a graphically intensive game.
