He is friends with a guy who owns a video store, and has been shopping there for years. The guy who owns the store lets him rent/buy movies days before they are scheduled to be released, and he picked up the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD yesterday. I told him about the ending on RotJ, and sure enough, like everyone feared, Hayden is replaced as the spirit in the place of Sebastian Shaw. He said that he wears the same clothes as Obi-Wan did, just the head changed. It looked like Obi-Wan and Yoda, not some bad special effect shot.

I've had the DVD set in my possession since thursday. Absolutely fantastic other than some oversights by ILM and Lucas, such as Luke's green lightsaber on the Falcon, an ugly effect of the lightsabers crossed over the Emperor's face, and Vader's lightsaber turning hot pink in a few scenes. Other than that, the movies look better than I've ever seen them before.

I didn't fear that change. It makes sense. Also, in terms of quality, I agree with Darth J.

I wrote a short story in high school that was published in a magazine, and later published in a collection of short stories and sold at bookstores nationwide. In my story, the main character died at the end. Well, I really wanted to do another story about him, later in fact than the original story. So I did, and people were confused as to how the character could be alive again. So I fixed the old one (it was broken and it wasn't my original vision) and released it as My Short Story 2.0, and I told all those people to buy another copy and then it would make sense. I am so smart!

Did they fix that error on Vader's lightsaber on the Death Star after he killed Ben Kenobi? In the other versions, as he starts walking towards Luke (and Luke fires the gun and shuts the door), the lightsaber stick appeared, but no lightsaber blade.

Actually it was rotoscopped, the saber was just white. I believe it's fixed in ANH but Luke's saber on the falcon remains the same.

I always liked that. Sure, it was a mistake and wasn't meant to look like that or ever BE like that, but it added some character to the film I thought.
