Is MSN explore worth anything?

What is it? I've never heard of it!

Are you talking about MSN's internet browser thing?
2004-09-18, 4:36 PM #4
Yeah it comes with XP... dunno it makes getting to hotmail easier... but that about limits it.

It takes IE and MSN Messenger and makes them incredibly bulky (last time i tried it out anyway, lots of the screen is taken up by toolbars and such) and it makes you sign into passport/messenger before you can browse the web... I never liked it.

Untrue. The main window has a toolbar along the top (smaller than IE's) and another on the left that can be minimised.

Screenie

Any new windows that are opened have a far smaller toolbar

Meh, I like it anyway.

Yeah its just a bulkier version of IE. I might just go back to using Firefox.

Ah, I forgot IE's toolbar size was increased by the Yahoo thingy. Anyway, the address bar hardly makes it "much bigger".

Ok it's not that much bigger but the buttons are huge.. and there appears to be no way to choose which ones are shown (Although I could be mistaken as I was only in the program for 2 minutes. )

After just running the program to get that screenshot it has reincarnated msn messenger. How annoying.

Yeah, the buttons are pretty chunky. You can choose which ones appear on the left hand side (click the >> button, then "Personalize My Stuff" if anyone's interested) but not the top ones, so far as I can tell at least.

Get that god-awful thing off my screen...

Basically guys... its IE without any of the security features that IE has after SP2... and its bulkier... so I'm just gonna stay away from it.
