...and you know what that means? I'll have my license the second month of my Sophomore year.

Everyone's gonna be like "Omicron, Omicron, can I have a ride home?"

And I'll be all  "Sure"

I'm gonna be a pimp.

Arr.

Then everyone will be like 'hey dude your car seats 5 you can be the designated driver' and you'll be like 'yeah sure' then the next week they'll be like 'hey man you were so good and gave everyone a ride last week do it again this week' and you'll be like '****ing hell man I havent had a drink for 2 months thanks to having a 5-seater car' and then you'll be like 'take a taxi you cheap jerks' while skulling a beer.

Yeah.. Welcome to my world :)

Somehow I always pictured you as 18 or so...

Find a car with as few seats as possible, so you don't have to drive people, as spork has pointed out.

Also, I didn't get to drive until halfway through my junior year. Lucky jerk.

Get a 1-seat car.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Nah, I didn't phrase that right, I guess. I'm a freshman now, so in a year I get my license.

Mother's Day. Did you tell your mom that her present for Mother's Day was that she got to give her son a present and make him smile?

One of my friends got his license at the end of his freshman year. He wasn't held back, he's actually pretty smart, his parents just started him late and guess. He got a two-seater pickup truck so he too wouldn't have to drive people around.

Anyway, happy birthday. :)

You know, giving people rides is a nice thing to do. Maybe you shouldn't look at it as such a negative thing.

It's nice...every once in a while. Or perhaps on an evenly distributed schedule. But if your vehicle is overly suited to carrying people comfortably, you're ALWAYS the guy who gives EVERYONE a ride. It's always "you're driving, i'm not cramming this many people into my acura" and the like. So be careful. :)

Curses! so many of you younger people keep making us feel old... And I'm only 18.1 years old!

Anyway, my reccomendation is to remove all the seats aside from the passenger's and driver's seats. Get a job delivering a lot of something, and you have:
  • A job, and
  • An excuse to not have to give everyone a ride. Since you have only one other seat, you can offer a ride to others, but with only room for one passenger, most will be dissuaded from asking.
  • Oh, and I don't know about the laws of your contry/state, but at least in MI, USA, if you're 16 years or older, you can sit in the back without a seat belt. If this is the case for you, then you can still offer rides to more than one person at once, but it's still enough to convince people you're not always open for rides.

My first car will be a knackered one which I will strip and keep in my garage permanently disassembled.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I drove a minivan in high school and I never had that problem. I'd drive my friends around, my actual friends, but people were never coming up and asking me to drive them somewhere.

I prefer to drive, myself. It means I get to decide what music we listen to.
