I just came across this at forums that were directed here by some members at massassi. I know a lot of you have spiffy computers, and a lot of you wish there were some free game's instead to play.

I know also a lot of you probably know this, but many might not. SO this is for them :p

Mods: If this is in wrong forum, or bad, I apologize. They are all legal though, so there is nothin bad about em.

I dont take credit for these, but I did have to edit all the friggin HTML code out of it.......and put url codes...... :(

I gotta say, I love that Runescape. I was referred by a friend to it and have been playing for 3 days and im totally addicted. I know nothing of all the others listed, but im curious as do any of them look as good b/c Runescape is 3D! I checked that Tibia and its isometric, (well not even that really) and I know grfx dont make a game but still....any of them look as good/better as runescape?

I used to play runescape... until I got stuck in the basement of that haunted house and even after a week of playing couldnt figure out how to get out. :(

Tibia has very good graphics, much more eyepleasing then runescape to me. Ive tried both, and runescape just annoyed me. Tibia isnt 3d, its a topdown view, like Zelda, or something similar. The joy to it is in that it gives you pure adrenalin. Fighting something new.. running from a Player Killer.. adventuring through unknown areas, and theres also some good people in the game. many idiots, but still alot of good guys.

Are there any of those that give you a freel trial before you give them your credit card details (like the SWG trial).
I know things like Everquest give you a free month after you subscribe, and it's a real pain having to unsubscribe after that month..

no... the whole point is to get you to forget that you've technically already paid them so that the second it goes over the trial they can charge you.

I occasionanally play on Runescape. Besides it's pathectic visual qualities, (which are pretty awesome for Java) it's a solid MMRPG. I would never actually pay for a game like that, but if I ever get the urge to do MMRPG's I just get on that for a while. Ever since the 3D update it's been all I need for the genere. Which isn't much, cause I'm not all that into that kind of thing.

Free MMORPGs and subscription-based MMORPGs are incomparable.
There's so much that subscription-based MMOs can do that free ones can't, that it really isn't sensible to judge subscription based ones on your experiences of free ones. Free ones have severe limitations in that they cannot provide the same service or content, or fund servers. Yes, whether they actually do go above and beyond it is another question, but the point is that they can. But they frequently do. Everquest was a fantastic MMO, and it was well worth paying for. It doesn't really compete with upcoming modern MMOs, but EQ is a classic and surviving this long is no small achievement. The sheer number that EQ deals with would be utterly impossible for a free MMO.

World of Warcraft totally looks to be a real winner in modern MMOs, its success mainly because of its simplicity, following basic DnD style guidelines and offering instant gratification to casual players.

The Everquest 2 team has the experience of EQ behind them, and it has a very interesting class system.

These two will be in constant competition. I'm not sure whether this will be good for either, as I'm seeing now that EQ2 is directly trying to do what WoW isn't doing, rather than doing what'd be best for EQ2.. I hope this doesn't become the Blizzard-Vivendi tango.

Im gonna rant about tibia again. It is free, but there are premium accounts people buy for more areas/better spells/login capabilities. 22 thousand people are on everyday. Free mmorpgs can definantly be good.

I always wanted to try helbreathye but for some reason I never did. Is it pay or not? I went to the USA site for it and it says "2 days free..." Anyone know for sure? I'm looking into it but it's sorta vague. maybe the korean one is different? some help please...
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

Temp, I want to know how many of that list you can play without having to sign up with a credit card?

I know almost all MMOs have a "first month free!" type offer, but I don't want to go to the hassle of cancelling the subscription so they don't charge me.

SWG has the 14 day free trial, no strings attached, I just downloaded, logged in, played (,got bored, quit), and there wasn't any hassle about subscribing or anything.
I want some more like that. Which are?

I dunno, youd have to go and check through the ones you were interested in.... I myself haven't checked them all out. I just posted the list for those that were interested, beyond that, my knowledge of the games on the list are limited.
