I found 2 interesting things today, and purchased one (and carefully hid the other to purchase next week). The first thing I found was the original trilogy on VHS, not the restored versions with THX that came out in 1994 or whenever, not the Special Edition, I mean the original like you saw them if you went to Blockbuster in 1987 and rented them.

The other thing I found was a copy of the Empire Strikes Back. On Beta. Yes, I kid you not, and I am going to buy it next week sometime, even though I haven't even held or seen a Beta tape before today, much less a Beta player. To simply own such an old copy is worth the $5.98+tax.

Would you even be able to /find/ a Betamax player?

I have two questions... One, are they new / unopened?

Two, where praytell did you find such treasures?

Where do you live so that I can ki... I mean... so I can come watch these and see them myself?

Both are opened. I could care less if they work or not, but they look to be in great condition. Second, I got them at Half Price Books. It's a book store in my area people sell used books, games, magazines and movies.

Well I picked it up today. $6.42, the cashier said "$642" and I siad "How about 642 pennies? Though it might be worth that much." and he asked why. I lifted it up and it fell out and he goes "WHAT THE HECK?" and I said "Beta." and he asked me if I even had a Beta player. My coworker does and I am gonna watch it with him.

Maybe I will stop by after all... but for different reasons.
