Put Massassi in your start menu!

This registry patch FOR WINDOWS XP ONLY will turn that empty spot in the Start Menu (or, if you have a DELL it will have the DELL support center icon, or maybe something else) into your own Massassi Temple option, complete with icon! Clicking on it will take you to the best place on the intarweb! :)

When making changes to the registry, it's always wise to back it up first. Start regedit.exe and hit file, export, select "All" for the export range, and choose a filename and save it somewhere.

Let me know if this does or does not work for you.

Put massassi.ico in C:\WINDOWS.

Apply the patch.

The text in the Start menu should change immediately, although the icon will not until you restart explorer.

Use task manager to end the explorer process and restart it with "New Task...".

Check out the start menu. :)

I would, but I choose wich browser to use on a whim every time I switch on, and that would invoke my default browser - Opera.

But sometimes i'm in the mood for Firefox!

(Oh, and can't this be done just by attaching a shortcut to www.massassi.net on your start menu, saving the icon to your HD, then editing the icon for that particular shortcut - changing it from your browser's default html doc icon to the custom one of massassi?)

Nope, this is a SPECIAL shortcut. ;/

It goes in a spot that is normally left unused by Windows XP for whatever reason. Some think it's a spot where later versions of Windows XP may have an additional icon.

But for now, it's fair game.

Aaaah! Now I see!

But it still could go in the other places ;)

I use the Classic start menu. So much more efficient..

I could never get the start menu hacks to work though (where you change the text on the button). I've tried many things, and many programs.. none work. :/

I would put a link to Massassi Temple but it would be useless because I practically NEVER use the start button. I prefer to navigate through Explorer and use desktop icons / quick launch buttons to get to my programs. Call me a freak if you want :D
