The story which could have been

"In other news a boy choked on two screws after they accidently fell from a grill into his food"

Turns into

"Hitler worshipping KFC terrorist plant screws of mass destruction in helpless three year old boys lunch after months of conspiring. The boy had just finished fighting a long intense battle of leukaemia, which he almost died from."

It's like the article wants you to feel really really bad for this kid, not just because he choked on a screw, but because he had leukaemia, and his family has been going through a lot latley, and all of this other garbage. The article starts off:

Quote:
A Three-year-old boy who has been battling leukaemia for more than a year almost choked on a plastic screw found in his bag of popcorn.

Samuel Spurr nearly lost his life nine weeks ago after being struck with pneumonia, while his body was weakened by the disease.

But after the ordeal the toddler almost choked after two screws were accidentally left in a bag of popcorn from a KFC drive-through.

Look at how much sympathy they are trying to get for this kid!!! See all that? It could be shortened into:

Quote:
A Three-year-old boy almost choked on a plastic screw found in his bag of popcorn. The toddler almost choked after two screws were accidentally left in a bag of popcorn from a KFC drive-through.

And you also meant pneumonia :P

Worst news story I ever saw was on TV, it was the middle of a regular news program and all of a sudden they just say "<Random Kid> from <Hicktown>, <Random State> broke his arm when he fell of his roof while cleaning the eavestrough. He's fine"

I was like WTF THIS IS NEWS?!
