No.

Ive never been shot in the foot, but I judge it as too painful of an experiance for me to try... Ive never smoked a cig, but I judge it as foolish and stupid. Ive never driven a Delorean but I still want one.

Do you all hate me now?
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

I'm guilty of it too. I judged the Mac before knowing it, but they're pretty cool, and except for compatability they're not that bad. I LOVE YOU MAC, FORGIVE ME!!

If you put your hand in a fire, you know it hurts.

But you don't have to put your hand in the fire to know that. You can go your whole life without ever putting your hand in a fire, and still know it hurts.

There are other ways of gathering information rather than just first-hand data, you know.

You weren't there during the American Revolution, but I'm sure you probably know a thing or two about what went on. In fact, you probably know quite a bit more than many people that did experience the American Revolution.

All the people do it all the time. You couldn't live without doing it. Every time you encounter some new thing or situation, you must make some judgements. Otherwise you would just be a Steven Seagal and stand there like a telephone pole.

But I do hate those people who make a quick judgement, and then never think about adjusting or changing it but believe it's true till the day they die.

And I used to think Macs are very cool computers. Until I had to do some scanning and slight image editing with one. After that, my judgement was adjusted deeply to the negative direction...

You must only know pretty stupid children.

In our physics class, we use bunsen burners frequently. No-one has ever been injured by bunsen burners, because we respect them already. We know that they can reach approximately 700°C (980 K), and we know the effects infrared radiation has upon human flesh. We don't need to put our hands in the bunsen burner to find out. We can work that out for ourselves.

Now, if you were totally ignorant of those effects, then yes, having first-hand (pardon the pun) experience would accelerate that learning process. They'd learn that putting your hand in a bunsen burner hurts, and they'd learn that pretty quickly, quicker than we would.
However, he'd have no idea why.

We know that it hurts, and we know why. And we have never set foot, or hand, inside a bunsen burner.

And why are you using bunsen burners in PHYSICS? Isn't that more a chemistry thing?

Anyways, I judge all the time, but am more than willing to change my opinion about someone. I also stereotype, but do not usually hold that against someone (unless something like a 'gangsta' comes up to ask me for money and promises to pay me back even when I don't know him. This includes white, black, mexican, asian, any kind of people like that.)

Presumably he is studying the Laws of Thermodynamics. When we studied those laws we used bunsen burners to heat water. We did experiments that measured such things as specific heat of water.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I guess I'm just repeating, but everyone makes a judgment on a first impression basis (me included), but it really frustrates me when people aren't willing to change this judgment. as in, it frustrates me to no end.

No, it's just a common sense approach to life.

You don't have to prick your finger on a needle to know it's sharp.

Using logic is just as, if not more credible than having first-hand experience of it.

I hate people who pass judgement when they don't even have any facts about something, or the proper facts for that matter. I do it alot but that's ok because I hate myself. :D

I wonder if it would be bad if I shoved a red hot poker in to someone's stomach. Not being one to judge unless I have first hand experience, I think I'm gonna try it before I say it's bad.
