SHAUN of the DEAD!

so... released tomorrow/today. I am looking forward to this movie mainly because I'm a big fan of zombie movies and if Peter Jackson gave it his stamp of approval after making the best zombie movie of all time then... ya.

I heard it was released a while back in the UK and I wanted to know what you UKers thought about it. I'm still going to see it.

I'm not a UKer, but i have friends in the movie theater business, so yay.

Seriously the best comedy ive seen for years. even george romero loved it. the music in it is great, too.

Is it only just coming out over there? It's already out on DVD here.
Definitely worth it. One of the funniest films I've seen in a long time. However, I'm not entirely sure how well the humour will translate. I mean, you probably haven't had the same exposure to Bill Nighy as we have in UK (seriously, he's been in pretty much everything for the past two years), so the scene where he turns up right at the start won't have the same impact, stuff like that.

*** Mild Spoiler ***
The scene in the pub with the Queen soundtrack is surely one of the best scenes in any film ever bar none.

never heard of it or seen it, what are you guys talking about, when did it come out?

A good movei that just came out is The Forgotten:three and a half stars out of four in my local paper.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Saw it. Going to see it 8 more times at least. It was just hilarious almost the entire way through. And it's got zombies.

This movie was aweseome. It was absolutely hilarious, and the only time it wasn't was was jsut before the very end, and that was only because it got to be so serious you wouldn't really laugh at it. The fact that the zombies were actually enemies and not just there to be laughed at was really good. Overall, i'd give this a 9.5 out of 10. Possible to be better, perhaps, (SPOILER: i.e. i was rather disturbed that, sitting in a celler full of beer cans and kegs, with a lighter, they couldn't have whipped up more coctails or at least anouther good firewall on the stairs, but maybe i just didn't think about it enough) but otherwise was incredibly good.

I just found out something very upsetting . . . The movie won't be showing in the theaters here in the area where I live. That blows.

I think it was more, they realized they were doomed anyways so they might as well quit prolonging the agony.

I just saw it. Awesome movie. Did anyone else think that the fat zombie (one of the first ones that you see) looks like the one from Doom 3?

Also, some of the music definitely sounded like Doom.

I saw it today. It was just as awsome as I had hoped. It was really funny. And had Timesplitters 2 in it. How could it not be good?

Sorry for the old-ish bump, but Shaun of the Dead just came out this week over here.

Best. Romantic comedy. Ever.

It was truely brilliant. The movie didnt lose its sense of humour just about the entire way through. My favourite bit was probably Shaun and Ed discovering their first zombie - the checkout girl in their garden. Hilarious. I loved the way it was essentially a romantic comedy, but set against a backdrop of zombie slaughtering.

There was a cameo from Coldplay and 2/3rds the cast of Black Books (Dylan Moran > *). Is there nothing not to like about this movie?

I'm wondering, did anyone else notice the zombie in the wheelchair?
