GOD, I'VE HAD THE BEST DAY TODAY! I LOVE LIFE, MY FRIENDS!

Here is how my day has been:

7:46 I go to school.
9:15 During P.E., my friend bets me $20 I can't beat him at a 3- lap race around the outside track.
9:21 I beat him, and obtain the money.
10:15 I go to Algebra class
10:22 I make a new friend.
11:15 I discover that I don't have to pay the $25 dollars in my pocket for a P.E. uniform; my mom had already paid it.
12:36 I have one hell of a good lunch: pork fried rice, fried shrimp, lao mein, and BBQ'd pork. (and it was all free:cool:)
1:15 This girl I kinda like sends me a note saything she think's I'm "hott". I do the same to her.
2:04 After class, we exchange phone #'s.
3:10 On the bus home, I see a fiver and a one on the seat across from me. The thief that I am, I snatch it.
3:11 Realizing I now have $51, I take a different bus route and stop by Best Buy. My dad's friend works there. I grab a copy of Star Wars: Battelfront for my PS2. On my way to checkout, I notice the several copies of the Original Trilogy DVDs on a display shelf. There are several moments of hesitation....but I decide that, sice I have already seen the freakin SW movies 20 billion times before, I should go with Battlefront, as I'd planned.
3:49 With the one remaining dollar, I get a slurpy at 7-11.:cool: Then I take the bus home.
4:00 Now home, I eagerly set up my PS2 and get ready to experience the Star Wars universe in a way I never have before.
4:06 I pop the disc in...my dad get's home, carrying a Circuit City bag. "Hey son, I knew you were into Star Wars, so I picked this up on the way home from work," he says....and what does he pull from the bag? Why, the OT DVDs, of course.
4:07 I relax on the couch and remember my day...smiling.

My day sucked.


5:00 AM -- woke up two hours early, couldn't go back to sleep. tired all day.

7:00 AM -- after giving up on sleep, I decide to get up. I move my leg too fast after being still all those hours and there's shooting pain shooting up my calf muscle for a few minutes. I spen the next few minutes hopping around on one leg and cursing until the pain goes away. Leg's been sore all day. At this point, I wanted to stake someone to the wall predator-style. Didn't matter who.

7:10 AM-- I get my cereal ready, only to find that the milk went bad overnight. Had dry cereal.

7:30 AM-- Finished up college essay that is due in a few hours. Couldn't get a good vibe on it and get any signifigant work done until a few minutes before i had to leave for class.

9:00 AM -- college parking lot is full, so I have to park about a half mile away and walk in.

9:10 AM -- i have to cross the street by hiking up a steep overpass b/c i don't have time to wait for the signal. I hate those damn overpasses b/c you're walking upwards on those and I'm carrying about 30 lbs of stuff in my backpack.

9:30 AM -- get to class, which is on the far side of the campus. air conditioner is broken, so i have to sit sweltering in a hot classroom.

11 AM -- Got out of class, have to walk up the overpass again, which feels great on my sore leg.

11:30 AM -- Got home, but not happy b/c i have to go back to school in 4 hours and do all that s*** again.

2:00 PM -- Went to math class. This time, i was able to park close enough to avoid using the damn overpass.

2:10 PM -- got to class, couldn't concentrate. Lack of sleep from last night was strarting to catch up with me. Math is my worst nightmare anyway, b/c I can't process it mentally.

4:20 PM -- went home.




Karma is a b****, isn't it? My days are usually pretty good.

Yesterday was an odd one:

I'm at a funeral for someone who was really old when he died, it was a nice service, i didn't leave feeling sad. (Frank reached the merry old age of 99)

3:30pm

The aftermath of the funeral at a pub round the corner from my house, me and me dad have a few beers, eat a lot of the very nice food that Tracy (the landlady) put on.

5:00pm ish

Get home, slob about, email my best friend who is coming home from Germany today, and moving into a house with me and two other mates next week. I move in tomorrow.

7:30pm

Meet a very good friend in town over a few drinks, we're just having a good old chat, and it's really nice.

8:30pm

She tells me her mum and dad are doing a pub quiz on the other side of York, asks if I want to go (I love pub quizzes), I jump at the chance!

9:00pm

Quiz starts, and it's quite a good range of questions, and our team has a good mix of youth, age, wisdom, and nowing random stuff! We come second and win some beer vouchers.

11:00pm

I meet my dad in another pub, he's been out with his work mates - Dad squeezes me a cheeky pint in at last orders, and I have a nice chat with Roy, Bri, Lindsey, Nige and Paul.

Taxi drops me and dad home, we crack open a bottle of dry red, and have a sneaky glass of wine before I declare that I'm shattered, and crash in bed!

For such a potentially crap start to the day, I got to see loads of people before I leave for Durham tomorrow, and I helped my mate's parents win some free drinks!

8:00AM - Wake up briefly, curse myself for even thinking I'd get up that early.

2:48PM - Wake up and realize if I don't want to miss every class I had today I'd have to hurry up and get ready to go. Consider writing an email telling my renaissance professor I was sick but... deceiving her would be ****ed up and it was only my first absence.

4:00PM - Class starts, still assigned to investigate negative space with charcoal. Produce one drawing as compared to 5 the previous class.

5:30PM - Talk to the instructor at length about where I want to take my work etc. She says I have a sophisticated approach to creating that many of her colleagues haven't even developed. I think that's a good thing.

6:00PM - Go to an art reception for the various faculty at the university I go to. One work was a sculpture of dead babies (don't ban me, it isn't a joke though he might've meant as one, hard to say). They were baby dolls that were mutilated, smashed, had limbs amputated and were tehn bronzed. Despite this possible shock art, there were some really good things to look at otherwise. Nice to see what your instructors are up to (who wants to be taught by someone who can't do it themselves?).

6:45PM - Eat barbecue tofu at some little place for dinner. It was alright, just $4. Walk the rest of the way home because the bus is disgusting and I was feeling like I hadn't accomplished anything all day so at least I could get some exercise.

8:00PM-3:00AM - Browse internet while "studying" for philosophy. After reading what I thought was sufficient I log in to the college site to take the test (tests are all online for this course but we still meet IRL). The practice exam is still up and I realize I could have put it off another day. I come here, write this post and realize my motto for the day was that it could be put off. Tomorrow I'll be more productive. Promise.

5:15am had to wake up, argh, the only stupid thing about my civil service job are these days where you have to be ther at 6 am.

5:30am I drink my tea, while my cat wants to come in. BBut I have to leave her outside, she'd wake up my parents

5:50am Uh, I should start... I get down in the backyard, where my cat awaits me No time... I take the bike and leave.

6:02am A bit late, but there are very cool coworkers, I am still new so I don't have to do it on my own. The cofee is allready done and she fills me a cup. Good service :))

6:30am the first handicapped come out of their beds (I work at a home for handicapped)

8:00am All have had they're breakfast and have left for the place where they work. I clean the kitchen and go home.

Since than I am before my computer, it's 11:41am and at 14:00 (2pm) I have there back again till 21:00 (9pm)... and tomorrow, saturday I have to work from 8:00 to 18:00. Argh, and my parents are gone! They're in Bilbao over the weekend. AND I CAN'T DO SOME PARTY HERE SINCE I HAVE TO WORK ALL THE TIME. Yeah, IT SUCKS!

And I am hungry.

7:20-7:55am - Train ride downtown
7:55-8:05am - Metro (subway) ride to school
8:05-8:15 - Hike up the ****ing hill to get to Polytechnique. You think you had it bad Page? Try walking up 10 flights of stairs BEFORE even getting to school.
8:15am - Calculus class on the 6th floor, even more stairs with my backpack and laptop hanging off of me
8:30am-10:20am - No one stops talking in class. I'm sitting in the front row and I can hardly hear the prof. On top of that he has an accent that's hard enough to understand without everyone talking.
10:30am-12:20pm - Material resistance, that was okay
12:20-13:45 - Lunch! Best pizza I had in a long time. Only 4$ for a slice, some fettucini and a coke
13:45-15:30 - Work in the library, get some physics done before my test next week.
15:30-17:45 - Physics class, did more problems as preparation for the exam
17:45-18:05 - Running through the metro to get to my train on time to get home
18:06-18:41 - Train ride
18:50 - Finally get home. Make myself some baked Bluefish for supper, sit down and watch Seinfeld.
19:30-21:00 - Homework
21:05 - Give the cat his pill. I don't get bitten.
21:30 - Bedtime.

My life is uneventful

Is it "bare" or "bear"? Ive always wondered.

Well, technically it's "bear" as in to "bear with" = "endure", but I thought Grammar Nazism was frowned upon nowadays?

Well, at the moment I'm quite often "on call" for support at work. Last Sunday I had to come into the office for the day (as in, full day: 9 - 5:30, althoug I managed to get out at 5) and have been on call at home for the past two nights (as in could have been phoned at any time throughout the night).

This Saturday, whilst I don't have to go into the office again, I do need to be up at 6am to shut down some systems for an hour.

It's got to the stage where I was asked to do that and I thought "Well, at least I don't have to come in to the office". Hopefully things should settle down a bit soon.

[Edit: Perhaps I should mention that I don't take note of the time during the day. All I'm thinking is roll on 5 o'clock]

yesterday was cool, i got to play with print making for the first time.... but today has sucked so far

i woke up late on the account that i set my alarm to 6:30 PM instead of AM, then i cuoldnet get into the shower bc the bathroom was beign used, so i dident get brakfast, then i left my keys in my dorm room, along iwth my wallet. hurray.

12AM: Went to bed.
~1-2AM: Realized the reason why I wasn't falling asleep was because I was nauseus. Got up, blundered around for some chewable Pepto Bismol, went down to the bathroom just incase (luckily it was not needed), went back to bed 10 mins later feeling better.
7AM: Stupid alarm. I get dressed. I go online and check my e-mail and #massassi, of couse.
7:30AM: I depart for my first class, still tasting Pepto Bismol chewables in my mouth and feeling generally weird.
7:38AM: I board the bus for my off-campus class
7:45AM: I depart the bus and get to class.
8:00AM: Class starts.
8:30AM: Class ends early. Woohoo!
8:32AM: Since the next bus isn't going to be around until 8:50, I get some friends to give me a lift back to campus.
8:37AM: Back on campus.
8:40AM: Back at my room with #massassi. :p
9:00AM: I leave for Physics class.
9:05AM: Physics class begins. I resist the urge to use the lab computers to PuTTy into #massassi.
10:08AM: Class ends late as usual.
10:13AM: I return to my room and #massassi.
10:20AM: I find this thread.

I have a test today for Intro to Linguistics. I'm beginning to think freshmen shouldn't take upper division classes.

10:25: Chapel started
10:30: I finally pick up my arse and go to chapel. :p
10:32: Yay chapel.
11:15: Chapel ends. Good chapel today.

I had a kickass day, mainly because it was my last day at my old job. YAY!! Never have to go back and work there ever again. Plus we're all having drinks at the local tomorrow night, and as it's my going-away shindig I should be able to get through the entire evening without paying for a single drink. Yay!

10: 30 go to chemistry and do very well on a quiz (at least it seemed very easy)
11:40 go to spanish and get a 38/52 on a huge food word quiz
Lunch was funny today. just random funny crap.
then went to composition 11 and aced the vocab test.

bleh. average day. would have been great if i would have had better timing and not asked a girl to hang out today (they all go to football games, sadly). but eh... ah well.

Let's see, yesterday:

7:09 - My alarm goes off
7:13 - I wake up and shower
7:2(ish) - I get out of the shower, get dressed (in my snazzy purple over-shirt with black t-shirt)
7:30(ish) - I go downstairs and have French Toast for breakfast
7:50 - I leave for school
7:05 - I arrive at school, go to my locker and get my stuff. I procede to hang out until the bell rings. (My purple shirt is admired by girls). I am asked several times if I am going to the school play
8:35 - Bio starts. I learn very little Bio, and the girl that I like tells me to come to her volleyball game. I agree.

(okay, I don't actually know when my classes start and end, so here is an overview of school)

Math - I get asked several times if I am going to the play. My purple shirt is admired. As the teacher is scolding the class, I get analyzed by her. She says I have a great math brain, but I'm not very organized, which will be a problem for me next year. (It's true! :p )
Indian Studies - Nothing exciting happens. (It never does)
Free Period- I walk around doing some mini-parkour. No one is around to watch.
Gym - I play badminton. I get beaten by that same girl that I like.
Lunch - I hang out at the School food corner with that same girl. While I'm looking through the music she has on her iPod, she changes the song to "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid.
Band - I play sit in the back and play my crappy Bassoon part to the crappy music we're playing.
English - We make poems by cutting out words from magazines that we brought to class (I brought MIT Technology Review)
History - Sit next to that girl again. The class finds the deaths of several Congressmen dieing in the reading we had to do. :p
3:35 PM - School is over. I hang around at the food corner with another friend while middle-schoolers come and buy candy.
4:00 - Volleyball game starts. Our team loses. It was close. (I swear I catch the girl I like sneaking glances at me, but I could just be crazy.)
5:40(ish) - Volleyball game ends. I meet up with someone I know and we wander around campus while he watches me doing my mini-parkour
6:10 - My family sends pizza from home. I eat the pizza, while watching my friends skate(board).
6:30 - I meet up with the girls from the volleyball team. We sit around for a bit and then go and get seats for the play. (Girl I like saves seates next to her for two other guys who show up just before the play starts. This is driving me crazy!)
7:00 - Play starts it is insanely awesome. If you ever have a chance to see "Captive Audience" do it without hesitation.
7-8 ish - As people are coming back from intermission and I'm sitting in my seat, some middle-aged woman with graying hair puts her face 4 inches from mine and starts telling me how wonderful my hair is (it is awesome :p) and how she sees it every day. All the while she is touching my hair. My friends are cracking up while I am scared to death. Finally she leaves
9:15 - Play ends. I hang around with the volleyball girls again while they wait for some other friends so they can go to a sleep-over.
9:40 - Wait outside school gate to be picked up with one of my friends and his girlfriend. I mess around on his skateboard.
10:00 - I get picked up and I go home.
10:15 - I get home and play Minesweeper/Solitaire/Deus Ex while listening to AC/DC.
10/11:40 (I forget which) - I finally turn off my computer and go to bed.

7:50 am: Hit the snooze on my alarm clock
8:52 am: Realize I have only seven minutes to get to my Differential Equations class. Decide to skip. Remember later that we got our tests back today.
11:15 am: Wake up, shower.
11:50 am: Go to physucks lecture. I don't get to sit with the girl I normally sit with. Instead, she is a row over and sitting with another guy. Quite unhappy about this.
1:03 pm: Walk in and scare my roommate half to death. I think he may have been looking at pr0n and not expecting me to come in. Drop off my bookbag and go to lunch.
1:30 pm: Leave for my 3D Modeling and Animation class. I make a table with fruit in Maya. Actually, I was lazy, so I only got the table done.
4:15 pm: Go on a run to the Alpine Tower. Spend a few hours there and climb the tower twice. The highlight of my day.
5:45 pm: Take a nap
9:00 pm: Go get dinner at Baja Bingham. Not great food, but passable.
10:15 pm: Go to one of my friends' girlfriend's apartments. Drink a little. Decide I've had it with the people on our floor.
2:45 am: Leave the apartment, go back to the dorms slightly buzzing.
4:03 am: Post my schedule on Massassi, go to sleep.

Tomorrow: Work on my portfolio so that I can get a job at the Computer-Human Interaction Lab on campus.

Ok here goes...

11:30 - IT - continue with coursework
12:30 - have lunch, talk with friends, relax for an hour
1:30 - my mum comes to pick me up as we had an appointment at Sheffield University.
2:30 - arrive at sheffield
2:45 - find the computer science department
2:48 - talk to a random guy who teaches there, spend about an hour trying to decypher his poor english
2:50 - ask him random questions about the uni
3:46 - start driving home
4:45 - get home, sign onto msn, play guitar
6:15 - change clothes, get ready for tonight, my friends 21st party
6:30 - back on msn, i'm told that we're getting a taxi at 7:40 not 6:45
7:39 - depart from the house, get to my friends house, the taxi is already there
8:00 - arrive at the place the party is held
8:05 - relax to music, "dance" a bit, get fairly drunk
12:30 - get a taxi back
1:00 - go for a walk down to the garage for some crisps
1:15 - on the way back, we go and sit on a favourite spot - a nice roundabout, eat crisps and talk
1:45 - get home and go to bed

Yesterday, I got to do the morning announcements over the intercom at my school. After saying everything, I ended them with a big Yoda voice "OHHHHHH!!". Even though the principal screamed at me, everybody in the school (2000+ people) thought it was the funniest thing ever. I might not do annoucements anymore, but it was worth it.

Man, I'm immature.

I watched the new OT discs from 8 last night until 4 this morning on about a 200" projection screen, with 5.1 surround. Not only that, but Halo was interspersed in this. And a hot girl stopped by to see me.

Wow, I can't believe that someone actually bothered to read the entirety of my post. Crazy.



Okay, now THAT'S awesome. Even without the hot girl, that would still be cool.

I had perhaps one of the best days of my life today.

Got up this morning and drove to Pt. Reyes National Sea Shore (great national park just north of where I live), met an awesome girl to go hiking, who is turning out to be even more awesome the more we hang out, and hiked a little over 8 miles. We're going to be going out again

Drove home, picked up my brother to go play in our weekly soccer game. We both tore it up on the field. My brother made a guy we absolutely hate look stupid (broke him with an amazing move and proceeded to score). I was abeast on defense, thorwing my body around, made some impressive open field tackles. We won the game and we're now 3-0-1.

My old hgh school had a box lacrosse game ging on the other field (my brother plays for them now) so we wandered over. Saw my old coach (still the head coach) and lined up a job that'll pay $25-$35 an hour reffing the box games.

I think the average showering time is about 5-10 minutes. Of course, that may depend somewhat on water pressure (although probably not).
