I was just watching 60 minutes....

and Mike Wallace was doing an interview with Bill O'Reilly. Pretty much what I've seen of his show was exemplified in that interview: O'Reilly is socially liberal, angery that WMD's haven't been found in Iraq, angery about the swift boat veterans campaign against Kerry, and thinks Limbaugh is simply an entertainer and not a source of credible information. And people call him a mouth piece for the Republicans? I think because he doesn't smear everything he doesn't like about the Republicans is why he is seen as conservative. If you aren't rabidly anti-bush, you must be pro-bush, huh? Meanwhile he also gets accusations that he is favoring Kerry. That's messed up.

It comes on here in an hour, I'll give it a watch.

I meant to watch it. Been busy with home improvement projects and missed it though.

I agree with Oreilly on much and disagree with him on much. He is far from a Republican lapdog though, that is for sure.

Edit - I'm not sure what his vendetta against Vietnam Vets like the Swift Vets is about though.

Bah, missed it :(

I knew I saw something on Fox once (a long while back) where he made it clear he was not a republican, can't quite remember though.

The only part of that I know in particular is about some guy that went to smear Kerry because he said he served with him. To summarize, it was basically O'reilly saying this one guy(who had won a star of some sort) was lieing and just trying to hurt Kerry's reputation. He pretty much showed how this guy's statements contradicted itself. If I can find a transcript, I'll post it.

I'm sure some of these guys (swift vets) have made contradictory statements over the years. I just don't get discrediting all of them because of that especially when Kerry has made it out that they all support him.
