Need a new headset.

Yeah, so my old headset just broke (and by "just", i mean like, three months ago), so I'm looking to buy a new one. Unfortunately, there's a ton of them out there, and I don't know which brands are good or not. So that's why I'm asking you guys what you'd suggest.

I'd prefer if it had a microphone, but it's not essential. This is for my PC, by the way.

So... Yeah. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Moo.

I would advise against Plantronics. Despite their popularity, they are just crappily made, along with 90% of the headphones out there... I'd recommend Sennheiser. Their microphone headsets can be expensive, but mic quality is secondary for me. I have decent Sennheiser headphones (HD490) and a cheap boom microphone. Gets the job done, had these headphones for 2, maybe 3 years? They still sound like brand new. Never had longevity like this from audio equipment.

How many Plantronics products have you used for extensive periods of time?

Even Sennheiser makes utter crap at times, like the HD 212 Pros, PMX60, and so many more.

I've used one of the lower end headsets for about 3 months, then it broke. They honored the warranty, and that broke too. My friend had the same set, it broke as well. My clanmate bought a higher-end plantronics set, it broke. He got another one on warranty, it broke. He got another one, got fed up and sold it, opting for Sennheisers instead.

You could say I have had some experience with Plantronics. Oh and when I say "it broke", I mean it always broke in the same way. They must use the cheapest wires around, because they always get broken either near the connection to the headphone, or the remote. I have soldered the wire back together, but the solution was only temporary - it came loose in the same spot a few weeks later.

My experiences with Sennheiser have been infintely better.

Logitech's headsets which you can find at Wal-Mart for $15-20 aren't bad unless they're prone to falling down and such. Can't turn them up really loud either, usually degrades the sound quality after awhile.
