Lucas the new Obi-wan?

Lucas confirms leaked Episode III rumors.

Recently leaked photographs of George Lucas wearing a Jedi robe in front of a green screen had many confused.

“I received an anonymous e-mail that supposedly contained leaked Episode III pictures.” Said Jeff Kolner, an editor at The Boston Globe. “The pictures looked very real, I really didn’t think they could have been edited, so I investigated.”

Jeff claims that he e-mailed the pictures to the official Star Wars website and received a reply in less then 24 hours.

“They told me that the pictures were fakes and that I should just delete them, but why would they ask me to delete fake pictures?”

Kolner claims he had e-mailed the pictures to various websites, and by the end of the month, they were practically everywhere. “I was amazed at how fast the pictures circulated, but then again it is the Internet.”

During a recent interview on 60 Minutes, Lucas confirmed the pictures were in fact real.

“There is a scene in The Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan sees a glimpse of himself in the future, and since Alec Guinness passed away about four years ago, we needed another actor to play the part.” Lucas said. “I decided that this would be the perfect way to put a little piece of me in the Star Wars films. A little bit of makeup and some voice editing is all it took. I think the fans of the films will be very pleased with the end results.”

Lucas didn’t mention many more details concerning Episode III, but he did briefly discuss Indiana Jones IV. The interview will premier tonight at 9-p.m. on CBS.

Why the hell did you post this? To try and trick the poorly educated hordes of Massassi?

Yes :(

I got bored and I realized I'd never written a fake news articled...so I figured I'd try to write one. Hey, it can't be that bad, I already tricked two people. ^_^

Sounded almost believeable, but I wouldn't believe it if there was no link (that and him putting that message on the bottom).
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

Don't worry. The next DVD set will replace Alec Guiness with George Lucas to maintain consistency. I hope that makes you all feel better. :)

Wow, this is amazing. So far, everyone has understood that it is a joke. Most times, even if you write "THIS IS A JOKE" in big letters with lots of exclamation marks at the top of your post there is at least one person who misses it.

The lack of any source, and some wierd formatting, such as the underlined "is" were pretty obvious clues, and the note at the bottom obviously confirmed it.
2004-09-27, 4:49 PM #13
I certianly wouldn't put it past Lucas, but the note at the bottom is a dead give away

Has Lucas made, in reality, any small, fast appearances in the past Episodes? I think many directors do that.

I am sure hordes for Star Wars nerd with too much time on their hands would have found it by now.

"Who's the more foolish? The fat fool or the fool who follows the fat fool?"
It won't happen, Lucas would just use a CG model of Obi-Wan or something.
2004-09-27, 5:18 PM #17
Although it seems like something Lucas would do lately...but the joke part is rather apparent.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

omg thats bull**** lucas looks nothign like obi-won
2004-09-27, 5:59 PM #19
if lucas wanted to have done all cgi, he would havve done so. This running joke about lucas using cgi instead of real actors both makes no sence as someone would need to voice the 3d model and not to mention the numerous people doing the cgi, as well as someone being the model.

Second reason, it is realy ****ing me off how all of you people can bash someone who made the movies that you for some strange reason, worship like a god and feel that your belifes have been "raped" when george lucas exercises his creative rights on his own work.

To DJ yoshi, It is not my opinion that these things **** me off, I AM ****ed off.

it is not my oppinion that people are making these jokes, They are making these jokes.

The stuff about how doing actors in cgi is not my opinion, it is fact

so dont just say you they are entitled to an opinion so I should just shut up, that would make me litterally sick at the hipocrasy of such a statement

(that is also not an opinion but a fact)

Sweet buttery jesus dude. I didn't even mention CGI in my joke..(I know other people did, but sweet god. You yell at them for joking about Lucas and CGI and then you are spazing out about them making jokes!!!) Back on topic. If your going to explode, don't do it here.

New post because I'm too damned lazy to edit my other one.

It's gotten to the point, where I'm not even going to try and understand alpha1 anymore when it comes to these movies. I'm just going to point and laugh.

You, sir, need to get over yourself and understand that YOUR OPINION IS NOT ALL THAT MATTERS.

Learn what an opinion is. Then learn to respect others opinions.

Alpha and anyone else who is getting all huffy, don't post, noone wants to hear your bickering. I see a flame war coming, so I'm going to stop it right now. Anyone that wants to yell or argue, use the PM system, this thread is here for a good chuckle hopefully, lets not ruin it.

my problem is that I don't see why I sahould have to respect dj yoshi's oppinion when it is different if he is not willing to do the same.

I know it is hipocritical but it is also showing him how it feels to have an oppinion called wrong just because I dont have the same oppinion.

the reason i get annoyed at this is that too many people take star wars too serieously.

If it doesn't calm down, I will go down to Imdb, register for the message boards, and get the people who also think lucas has the right to do whatever he wants to the star wars movies.

If you watch the documentery empire of dreams, you will see the reason the george does not let the fans decide what happens in his films.

i just want people to realise that without lucas, there would be no star wars not to mention the movie industry would be totaly different.

So remember that the next time you want to bash geoprge lucas, without him there would be no star wars at all.

Lucas has every right to make whatever changes he wants to Star Wars. I have every right to call him a senile old man when some of those changes are brain dead. It's win-win.

Aye Jaiph. And I have every right to 'acquire' a 'legal copy' of the Laserdisc version of Ep 4, 5, and 6.

Widescreen, unraped, wholly un-CG'ed goodness.

Alpha--stop trying to bait me. I didn't say a damn thing about your opinion and frankly I don't care about your opinion. I'm well known for that "Your Opinion is WRONG" pic, so I flaunt it. It's not like I tell everyone that their opinion is seriously wrong.

Alpha, you are raising a lot more hell on this thread than is really warranted. I mean really... its one thing to say "They are just movies, quit taking them so seriously," but I never thought I would ever feel the need to say "They are just people who dont like a certain movie, quit taking the defense of said movie and director so seriously." No one even mentioned cgi, or posted a single comment about not liking the DVDs because of the changes. The original post was a joke. Please, calm down a bit.

or you could look on eBay. They've had the laserdiscs rips around for years. Or go to the nearest city and find a bootlegger. Biggest bootleg video sale was in London. I was amazed.
