Well, I don't want this to turn into a flame war, but it's a very good movie. You should see it, there is plently of action and humor in it. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Saw it, didn't like it. (Most of you'l say no kidding he didn't like it)
It was just very anticlimatic, it didn't really go anywhere.

I loved it, it was great. Yeah kinda anti-climatic, but it's a nice change that they weren't going for some huge effects thing to be climatic for everything.

Alright, how good was it?

The Hulk sucked. Sure it had a good story, but it over developed each character. Was it better or worst than The Hulk?

Daredevil sucked even more. Better or worst?

Roger Ebert gave it 3.5 stars, and my opinions usually pretty similar to his, so thats good enough for me.

And this, I wonder, is what the deciding factor is. Usually movies based on comics are this way - people who have never heard of it before hate it, and people who used to be fans of the comics love it...

I wonder if it looks dumb to me because I've never even heard of the comics?

Actually, I've never heard of it or the comics before, and I liked it. It's based off of Hitler's craze to find the Arc and control super-natural powers. It fits very well into the aspect of WW2.

I'd give it a 6.5/10

About the Hulk having overdevelop characters. I don't get it, I thought developing your characters were a good thing?
2004-04-04, 3:20 PM #29
I just saw it, I didn't find it really good at all. I've never read the comic, so the actual Hell Boy himself was kinda a letdown, that german assassin guy was more badass :/ . Sure, it had it's moments, but there really was no development in the sotry, just seemed like a stream of events that led to an ending that came and went way to fast

Nothing that left me feeling with awe, but an enjoyable and well-done film, in my opinion.

And no, I hadn't heard of the comics.

I agree that there was quite an anticlimax, but I still liked it. Up until the ending it was a pretty good movie. (I'd say the best super=hero movie I've seen)

I enjoyed the movie, its not my favorite comic adaptation, but from everything i've heard, the movie was very faithful to the comic. i agreed with ebert's 3 1/2 stars.

if you want a rundown on the character/backstory Comics 101 over at moviepoopshoot.com has a nice one.

I liked it. Three people walked out at the theater I went to. I never read the comic, but I'm told it was very close to it, in regard to the message regarding free will, and what you are/how you look vs. what you can do/who you can be.

The end is anticlimactic in regard to the action, but the theme which climaxed wasn't about action. Like the end of the Cowboy Bebop movie.
