This is starting to piss me off

Every time I put on my headphones and listen to my music, my right inner-ear begins to tickle little by little until it becomes unbearable.

So I reverse the headphones (put left phone over right ear, right phone over left ear). Right ear still tickles like crazy.

My ears are clean, and it's quite evident that the phones are not at fault. Anyone have any idea what this is?

Umm....That's called an Ear infection. You need to go on antibiotics to get rid of it. I suggest you get to your doctor ASAP before it develops into something serious, perhaps lethal. Because it can.

Probably those ear mite things as shown in Wrath of Khan. The tickling is when it lays its eggs.

Actually, the tickling is when it dances.

I suggest listening to music that is difficult to dance to.

What kind of headphones are we talking about here? And how often do you use them? Earphones of this nature can trap heat, and with prolonged use can cause your ear(s) to hurt. I've never actually gotten an ear infection from them, though, or had a tickling thing.
Also, if you have a lot of earwax, loud sounds or sounds at certain frequencies can cause it to break up or vibrate, tickling your ear.

It only happens when I wear the headphones. Never anytime else. If it was otherwise, I would be concerned.

Have you tried using a more standard type of headphones?
(Like ones with a plain foam cover instead of a shaped one?

Headphones, especially closed ones like yours, are blasting vibrations straight into your ear with no where to go. It's quite a bit different than with speakers. No one here is going to know much about this, you're best off seeing a doctor. If you don't want to do that, I suggest you search or ask on http://head-fi.org, they would know more about this stuff.

Basically what he said. The bones in your ear (stirrup, anvil, hammer) could be a cause of tickling.

But yeah, go see a doctor if it is persistant.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I still think it could be the beginnings of a slight ear infection. Or what they posted... Either way, go see a doctor, nobody else can be more sure of it than him. Not even you.

Umm....Roach, sarcasm isn't really needed here. This can be a serious issue. If you know about ear infections, you'd know that they can sometimes start out as a slight tickle, brought upon by something like Loud music, cleaning of the ears, etc. It doesn't really matter if it only happens when you do a particular thing, what matters is that it is happening. And the best thing to do, is rule out the serious things, instead of ignoring it.

Sarcasm isn't needed here, but it doesn't hurt. Loud noises don't cause infections, they cause inner/middle ear damage. Inner/middle ear damage doesn't spread to the brain like an infection would. Antibiotics don't treat inner/middle ear damage. A tickling sensation is a sign of any number of things, the best of which is a small bug in the ear canal. Other causes could be wax, dry skin, an effusion in the middle ear, and possibly outer ear infections. All of which you should see a doctor for, but as it's only happening when listening to music, I'd think the infection most likely isn't the cause of the tickling.

You tell that to my girlfriend...Who is currently on antibiotics for an ear infection, which started out as only a tickle when doing certain activities.

EDIT: I didn't mean any offense in my last post, just in case you might have got that impression. :)

Two things:

1. Could be an infection or something like tinnitus. Neither is good, see a doctor.

2. Buy some nicer headphones, like Sennheiser, Grado, Beyerdynamic, etc. If your ear is going to hurt, it better sound nice while you're doing it. :p
