I don't look forward to Star Wars games anymore

I don't look forward to Star Wars games anymore.

The last great Star Wars game that I played was JK. Big maps, good gameplay, the stuff. The sequels were mediocre. I was anticipating the awesomeness of Battlefront (didn't get it b/c my computer can't run it), but it turns out now to have too many bugs and inconveniences. Overall, it seems that Star Wars games are declining in quality, although KOTOR is a big exception.

Sometimes I think that the future of Star Wars games is doomed.

Well, there is always Stalker and maybe HL2 if it comes out EVER.

I have hope in that title, for now anyway.

Anyone know what the garbage below is?

I have hope with Commando and KotOR 2. Nothing else really looks all that good.

What would be awesome is if they made an X-Wing vs Tie Fighter where you could either rise in the ranks of being an X-Wing or Tie Fighter pilot in the Imperial or Rebel army.

KotOR 2 would be the ONLY Star Wars related game I'm looking forwards to right now. The first blew me away, though I thought the ending was kinda lame. They left several sub-plots without conclusion. Still, that's the only gripe I have about the game. I'll probably buy KotOR 2 the week of it's release.

I don't care what anyone says, Battlefront is an pretty awesome game. Not "OMQ SECKS" awesome, but still a quality title.

**** guys i dunno if any of you played all the wya through jedi academy but it was a fun game... and dude get off the high horse with JK as the best game... i mean it did a lot of things to re-invent the fps genre like having good gameplay! But give it a rest JO and JA are good games as well as JK... BF is fun too.... and if you think LucasArts blows play Troopers mod for UT or something...

I liked Battlefront.

JO was great when it came out but it lost its fun factor rather quickly. The game is just flat out boring now. Same thing with JA. It was sort of fun but it too got boring (much faster than JO because I was already bored with JO when I got JA).

I'm looking forward to Republic Commano, KotOR2, and Battlefront, which I just haven't gotten yet. But it's not like it was with JK. KotOR comes very close, however.

I loved JK and had a lot of fun with XWA. Hell, I was playing JK religiously for a good 4 years. KotOR is the best SW game to come out since then, nut JO and JA were solid games even though I never got into the MP. Battlefront is solid, but it's nothing spectacular. I'm really looking forward to KotOR2

TIE Fighter, JK, Rogue Squadron, Rogue Leader, Battle for Naboo and Bounty Hunter are all that have so far been really worth looking forward to for me.

Republic Commando looks interesting, but we'll see. Lucasarts has been notorious lately for taking a cool idea and slamming it into the ground by taking too many liberties.

Star Wars will offer opportunities for game makers for years and years to come. It's unwise to say nothing good comes from that source anymore, unless you are bored of SW universe itself (and if you are, what are you doing here?).

I regret I didn't play the old JK titles when they came out. Maybe I should try them some day with some mods. The original game play (with saber and force powers) just isn't good enough for me after JO and JA, but otherwise the games look and feel very nice.

The Kotor games are pretty much it for me right now. I'd kill for a decent SWG mmorpg mind you.

the EP3 game looks like it could be decent.. Its got behind the scenes vids on the bonus disc of the trilogy.

My favorite game out of the 3 was JK, but my favorite lvl was in JK2 in the lvl right before you get on the Doomgiver.

I'm waiting for KotOR 2. Otherwise, I'm always waiting for a new sequel for TIE Fighter... :(

The vast majority of starwars games are just lame cash-ins on the license. There was an article on the main page which discussed it.

In the Jedi Knight series, JK is easily the best (i'd argue JK2 has more enjoyable multiplayer when played well).

JO was pretty good, the main probably was that the ending was anti-climatic, the story itself (other than Barney) was pretty good. The level design wasn't on par with JK but it was pretty good, although too much of it was "oh no, not another imperial base".

JA however was a big letdown, the levels were shallow and repetitive and just felt more like an arcade game than a serious singleplayer experience. Other than Siege, multiplayer wasn't as good as JO.

i thought JA single player was solid but the multiplayer made moves to easy to execute and thus n00bs over did it and if you join a server its a bunch of guys doing the same saber swings over and over again... not that JO dosn't have the problem but JO seems way more refined to me MP wise..

I feel the same way. But it's more along the lines of... video games no longer excite me.

Bungie has yet to let me down on any game I've ever played that they've developed.

I agree with what DeT said, although I believe JA singleplayer's lack of idiotic puzzles to be a large improvement over JO, despite its downsides.

I'd also disagree on JO multiplayer ever being better than JK. I suppose strictly for competitive play, but in all other circumstances I always found JK just more fun.

I find JO has far more scope for just messing around with levels (thanks to a couple of physics glitches), this is what I spend most time doing in multiplayer games.

Halo 2 will be amazing...but still not worth me getting an x-box. The DS is my next toy. Yay for Christmas presents!

Bounty Hunter sucked royal eggs. Repetetive gameplay, a weak, crappy storyline, and absolutely the worst game extras ever. Some stupid friggn' comic book, pictures of some stupid set of trading cards, and outtakes sooooooooo not funny it hurts. The cheat codes are the dumbest I have ever seen, (to unlock all trading cards/comic book/outtakes/George Lucas commentary on War and Peace...) There is no multi player or arcade play of any sort, the music is painfully repetive as well, and there is no save feature. I swear if I ever meet the man that thought up that worthless waste of plastic...

SAJN--not really. It'll be amazing. If for no other reason than the fact that it actually continues the plotline.

Bungie would have to have gone LEC to mess this one up.

Ditto. Halo 2 will be worth the cost of the game and Xbox ALONE just so I can play a revamped Slayer match with my friends.

Like I said, I've played about 70% of Bungie's games. Not one of them has ever dissapointed me. Halo 2 will be no different.

38 days and counting.

I suppose I should also mention now, that while Halo 2 has finally been the prompt for me to buy an Xbox, it isn't the sole reason. There are numerous other games released under it that I think I'll enjoy.

JO was funner ([sarcasm]great word of comparison[/sarcasm]) than JA in MP, especially FF Guns CTF (only 4 maps, but all were fast-paced). JA's MP was more ideal in what I wanted to see in the whole Jedi Academy theme, but it was short.

Sometimes I believe that Raven never looked at JK. Otherwise, they wouldn't have screwed Nar up as much as they did.

I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of JK in a newer engine, as long as it was improved with most of the original content intact.
