Morrowind Help

Some of the people here like Morrowind, right? I need help with it.

I just started playing, and I felt like playing a Khajiit Thief. When I read the description of the Khajiit race, it mentions many opt to use hand-to-hand combat instead of weapons, so I thought I'd try that as well. The problem I'm having is that not only does it take ages to knock down an opponent, I only seem to be able to stun them momentarily before they get up. Is it actually possible to kill using fists or do I have to use a weapon? Thanks in advance.

Oh, and um...Hi :o

You would need an amount of strength that is not easily gained through "proper play", weapons are faster, by a lot

Ah well. I just found a neat little Wakizashi, so I guess I'll use that. Thanks again.

Mastering fists is really quite useful anyhow, though, as fist fighting will drain their energy and knock them them. Sometimes you do need to knock them out, and not killl them, for some quests.

But when you punch them after they fall down, you should start hurting them, and eventually kill them.

When your hand-to-hand skill is 100, you can knock most opponents down in 2 or 3 hits, and keep them there.

Sounds fun. So, what do you all recommend? Keep using blades but level up hand-to-hand on the side? I noticed people tend to fall unconscious for about a second before getting up. Does the time they stay down for increase as I level up?

Your hands skill will be useful, but I imagine bumping up some sword skill, or ranged skill, would be really useful. More often than not, you'll want to kill them quickly and easily. If you want the most damage output, start working on the Destruction or Mysticism spell lines. Absorb Health is by far the best spell there is,

Yes, it does. I don't know exactly what governs the time they're knocked out on the ground, but it did seem to increase for me. (think like 7-8 seconds). For me (my main was a Kajhit thief too!) I actually used hand to hand as my main attack skill. Then, when they were on the ground, I'd switch to the beefiest two-handed weapon I could and swing at em. This was a very effective combat approach for me.

I never bothered with hand-to-hand. It was one of the skills I classed as redundant.

This is mainly because TK the moogle uses biiiiig swords.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.
