Star Wars Galaxies is down to $30... is it worth it?

I've heard nothing since it came out to make me belive it was worth its initial price (50 to 60 I think), but now I've seen it a couple of places for about $30. So do any of you think its worth that much? Or should I spend my time on stuff that matters... like school?

Unless there has been drastic drastic changes, which I'm told isn't the case, no it isn't.

I would say buy it. I have it and i am very much addicted to it. But the people here treat it like AIDs.

Thats why the SWG haters need to die.

Just die.

Please?

No, seriously.

I remember a little while ago that they were giving out a limited time offer to download it free, and try it for 14 days. I never jumped at the chance because when you're living a real life, like me, games take the trunk of the car, never mind the back seat....:(

You realize almost all the SWG haters were frequent players and made up the majority of people on the SWG forum? It's not like they don't have experience with the game. :p

Wait for Jump to lightspeed to come out. Then buy both. It'll be much better then just buying Star Wars Galaxies now. And alot more interesting.

I played as well. It is definently not worth the $30 and the $15 bucks a month. I have a friend who has the Jump to Lightspeed beta, and i'll let you know if that is worth it.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

If the $30 would be all you have to pay, no doubt it'd be worth it. But $15 a month after that? Pfft.

I tried the two week demo. It stunk so bad I would even recomend Runescape over it.

Run away as fast as you can. You should be shot for even thinking about getting it.

After playing the game during that two week trial, I can't say I would recommend it. It's xp system is so complex that it is boring as hell to level up the various skills you want.

I hooked up with her in the game. She's hot.

lolzerz.

Ya, it's not anything to get excited about. Wait for EQ2 if you want an MMORPG. I met the guy that was project lead on it (he comes into where I work all the time) and he said if you even remotely liked EQ1 you'll love and drool all over yourself for EQ2. He also was on the team for Doom 1 and Quake 2.

i played swg for 1 month (the free month that comes with it) when the game first came out... and unless you like wandering around like a dip**** with an unpronouncable name wearing clothes that would envy most hobo's i would say this game is for you... but seriously the community = gay... its not like you join for a casual session like any other online game its full of grinders who the play the game more then living their real life.
